Resilience is a word that too many people use before life has ever made them understand what it means to become resilient. They turn it into a slogan because they have never had to crawl through the wreckage of their own life and still find a way to stand.
Resilience is what is left when a devastating force strips you of your voice, your safety, your certainty, and yet you still push forward with nothing but the wreckage beneath you. I learned the concept of resilience by surviving what I never should have had to survive alone, and by watching people beg for help while the world moved too slowly or looked away completely.
EFFECT CO. was built from the understanding of resilience, from what I endured, from what I witnessed, and from the pieces no one came to pick up and left behind. EFFECT CO. exists to be a voice for the voiceless, to stand with people when no one else will, and to make humanity impossible to ignore.
To prove to the @X algorithm that I’m human and not a robot, anomaly, or spam account, I’m posting this picture of myself from the @AudubonNature Zoo-To-Do event. I figured I wouldn’t bore the people of X by posting my 182nd certification like I would typically post on LinkedIn.
Tunnel Vision Challenge results!
We've been overwhelmed with the amazing submissions…so we are announcing three winners!
The Thrilling Three are:
- NOLA Loop (New Orleans, LA)
- Ravens Loop (Baltimore, MD)
- University Hills Loop (Dallas, TX)
What happens next? TBC and the project stakeholders enter into a rigorous diligence process which includes:
- Meetings with elected officials, regulators, community leaders, and business leaders
- Geotechnical borings
- Utility and subsurface infra investigation
Once the diligence (100% funded by TBC) is complete, if all 3 projects are feasible, will fund/build all 3 - this would be awesome. If only 1 is feasible, will fund/build 1.
IN ADDITION, there were multiple other projects that TBC thought were so compelling that we are going to continue to work with the entrants and try to get them built. This includes the following two:
- Hendersonville Utility Tunnel (Hendersonville, TN)
- Morgan's Wonderland Tunnel (San Antonio, TX)
Thanks again to all of the participants - your enthusiasm and positivity has been inspiring for the TBC team.
Starship’s twelfth flight test will debut the next generation Starship and Super Heavy vehicles, powered by the next evolution of the Raptor engine and launching from a newly designed pad at Starbase. The launch is targeted as early as Tuesday, May 19 → https://t.co/2gZQUxS6mm
Despite the rain, the @AudubonNature’s annual Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do event was amazing and I’m so happy that my startup, EFFECT CO, was a patron sponsor this year. I can’t wait for next year!

Little did I realize years ago that by choosing to sit on this bench I had started a journey that would make me witness, endure, and face constant devastation and suffering that would ultimately lead to the creation of EFFECT CO and a passion for helping others in their greatest time of need.

⚠️Heavy snow forecast to start late Tuesday over the Central Plains and spread into the Midwest.
❄️Winter Storm for the Central Plains and parts of the Midwest
A winter storm exiting the Rockies on Tuesday will impact the central Plains Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. Snow is likely for northern areas with a mix of sleet and freezing rain to the south.
❄️Heavy snow possible early Wednesday
Snowfall rates of around 1"/hr are likely (60-80%) to produce at least 6 inches of total snow accumulation for much of central Kansas along and north of the I-70 corridor, as well as into far southern Nebraska.
🌧️Wintry mix likely to the south
Over central/eastern Oklahoma into the Ozarks, a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain may yield some ice accumulation of a tenth of an inch or more. Any amount of freezing rain could make for hazardous travel on untreated surfaces.
❄️Snow expands into the Great Lakes
By late Wednesday, snow is expected to expand into parts of the Midwest and Great Lakes region, including the Chicago metro. Total snow accumulations over 6 inches are possible (40-60%) in this region.
