A reminder to all who are following the news in Maine:
โข Whatever you hear now could change in 5 minutes. Things are rapidly evolving.
โข The suspect hasnโt been apprehended. The talking heads talking about why he did this canโt actually tell you that.

Iโm waiting at a NYS Thruway rest stop BK line that stretches to the far wall because NYS, in its wisdom, gave a lease to a fast food company that isnโt open on the busiest travel day of the week. I should probably be grateful thereโs any food for sale on Sundays.
On a day the Republican Party is in a crisis of leadership, an establishment voice speaks up for a return to its bedrock values. https://t.co/owPN1dVK9u

I wasnโt alive on 9/11 but my dad was and his story of the day continuously sticks with me.
He was as a project manager in Syracuse and his team was working on ward 5C for pediatric cancer at the Upstate University Hospital (thatโs what it was called back then).
At the time in 2001 the hospital was a designated trauma center because it was only 45 minutes from the city by helicopter.
When the planes hit the towers and the news started spreading the hospital started getting ready for a ton of incoming trauma.
My dad and the other construction employees that were there wheeled gurneys into the hallways and just helped do whatever needed to be done to prepare for the incoming injured.
They were in the hospital all day because it was locked down waiting for the people from the city to get there.
But no one ever came and the hallways stayed filled with empty gurneys.
My dad and his workers sat in the family lounge with the nurses just waiting and watching the news. When the first plane hit they thought it was an accident until the second plane hit and the other went down in Pennsylvania.
My dad and his workers went home around 4pm after the hospital realized no one was healthy enough to even be transported to Syracuse.
If you are an unmarried motorist in New York State, you should check if your insurance premium is going up because of this new state law that won't provide you with any benefit. Good investigative reporting by @ChrisBragg1 https://t.co/5ygmJfaTSH via @TheBuffaloNews
Appreciate @awfulannouncing taking the time to highlight our commentary on the broadcast last night.
When broadcasters arenโt allowed to speak freely and fairly while covering a team, fans will sniff that out from a mile away.
Weโre excited to hear Kevin back on the air soon!
The impacts of that halo were apparent in the years after, when her great-grandfather died of stomach cancer. One person after another would receive their own wrenching cancer diagnoses โ 41 people in her immediate family, spanning five generations.

This morning, Syracuse Firefighters from Truck 2 assisted @SyracusePolice with a duckling rescue at DestinyUSA. Ducklings were removed from a sewer and led to a safer area before being reunited with mom. Great work by all involved!
