Yesterday I saw an advert on Citizen TV promoting a herbicide called SRASHER to farmers in Kenya.

Before people rush to buy it, please share this message in your WhatsApp groups, especially those with farmers.

This herbicide contains chemicals such as Atrazine and Acetochlor. Studies have linked these two long-term exposures to serious health concerns, including:

• Endocrine (hormone) disruption affecting estrogen & testosterone balance
• Reproductive effects like reduced sperm quality & menstrual cycle disruption, irregular periods, etc
• Possible birth defects in heavily exposed populations
• Cancer concerns studied in relation to breast, ovarian, liver, lung, thyroid cancers, and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
• Nervous system effects such as headaches, dizziness, nausea & weakness
• Liver toxicity, including enlargement and enzyme changes
• Possible kidney stress
• Skin & eye irritation from direct contact

Today I was alerted to another disturbing incident involving SHA.

A patient, Lucy Wanjiru, went to a public Hospital expecting to use SHA.
Her details were entered, and the system said she was already admitted to another hospital.

Yet she has never been there. She hasn't been sick recently. (evidence on left pic)

And this isn’t the first time I’m hearing this.

In North Eastern and other parts of Kenya, there are people whose IDs show they had surgeries under SHA and admissions that never happened. In some cases, people are finding out that their IDs show they underwent procedures that in reality never happened.

This is how public health funds are being stolen.

And notice this: when we started raising questions about SHA, the Ministry of Health stopped publishing payment data.

Yesterday I watched this report on Citizen TV that really disturbed me.

While CS Migos & PS Bitok continue to say school fees are affordable, this is what the CBC/CBE transition looks like on the ground.

Where are such parents expected to find KSh 50,000 per year when some cannot even afford basic necessities?

About 800,000 students have not joined Grade 10, not because they failed, but because their families simply can’t afford it.

Under 8-4-4, most Kenyans at least had a fair chance to sit KCSE. Today, many bright students are being locked out early purely because of cost.

This is a serious issue, and the people responsible for education need to see it.

If you believe in equal opportunity, tag the CS for Education, MPs, and the President so they see what’s happening on the ground.

If CBC/CBE is here to stay, then education must be truly free so no child is left behind.

Funding is about priorities, not excuses.

I’ll keep speaking up for these students.

UPDATE: Uganda Police Arrested and Expeled Sky News Reporter, Yousra Elbagir for filming them in trigger ‘action’

Bullet-proof clad Sky News African Correspondent Yousra Elbagir and her entire crew were arrested for filming Uganda police and military forces caught on camera beating up Bobi Wine Supporters.

Yousra recently interviwed dictator Museveni, and has been reporting on the atrocities being inflicted on Bobi Wines supporters in the aftermath of disputed Elections in Uganda which have been won by 81 year old Museveni since 1996.

As at press time, reports indicated that they were forced out of Uganda for their own safety.

Please help highlight the story of Dec Muniko. He died at the hands of police on Thursday afternoon, in Makongeni Thika. The police broke into his apartment on suspicion of cannabis possession. There were 3 young men in the apartment. Next thing Dec is dead. Initially the police claimed he jumped from the fifth floor apartment but now they're saying they found his body on the ground. They broke the door to his apartment and a few minutes later he was dead. The family is pained to lose their beloved young man under very suspicious circumstances.

OVER KSH 30 billion in totally waste ‘interest charges’. Bills are somehow never paid until billions are charged in interest.

KSH 59 billion in illegal contract variations. For example, in response to a tender request, we get four bids between KSH 5.0 and KSH 5.5 billion. We pick the lowest pursuant to the law.

Two months later, that contract is revised to KSH 7 billion!

KSH 2.5 trillion in money owed to the government, but the government is not interested in collecting. Go figure!

KSH 231 billion in projects that show no value for money. Inflated contracts, or, projects are completed but nobody is using them, years later.

Today, January 18th, marks exactly one year since Brian Odhiambo was seen arrested, beaten senselessly and thrown into a waiting @KWSKenya vehicle at Lake Nakuru National Park, never to be seen again.

When the 6 rangers who were present during this incident were arrested and presented in court, @KWSKenya gave out their lawyer to defend the suspects meaning they chose to stand with the suspects instead of the victim’s family.

To date Brian Odhiambo and his family have not received justice despite a prolonged court case in which witnesses testified seeing the body of Brian in a KWS truck with one of the officers saying Brian was dead after checking his pulse.

Justice has remained elusive, the family continues to struggle. The children are orphaned and the wife widowed. The cabinet secretary in charge of KWS remains @rebecca_miano. What has she done to ensure justice is done?
