This man is lying to you. Texas is 43rd in Education. Massachusettes is #1 in Education and they spend $17,058 per student. Texas pays a little over $6,000. GREG LIES! Private education getting vouchers isn't going to solve the problem, only make it worse.
Our top story: If the voucher bill were to pass, select private companies could soon be reeling in tens and even hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars per year. We took a closer look at who stands to gain the most. https://t.co/N5lhpa1t5w
Brian,
You can’t claim to be for REDUCING GOVERNMENT and EXPANDING LIBERTY while pushing Universal School Choice. It’s a blatant contradiction—talking out of both sides of your mouth. On one side, you promise smaller government, but on the other, you advocate for a massive new entitlement that centralizes control and erodes local authority. #Txlege
Rural Texas has loyally supported the Texas GOP, even saving the GOP from defeat in 2018 when it came to Beto vs. Cruz. So, you’d think Abbott’s GOP wouldn’t stab their big, bejeweled voucher knife into rural Texas’s back. But that’s the plan.
This is 100% on Abbott for starving our Texas public schools to death to shove his voucher scam down our throats.
Texans need to see the reality of his inability to lead and vote accordingly.
FACT: Texas does not have the budgetary means to fund two educational systems. So shifting education funds into the ESA voucher system will eventually require them to shift money out, essentially defunding the public school system. It is irresponsible to use taxpayer money to line the pockets of unaccountable private schools. #txed #txlege
They can’t even say the “V” word out loud because they already know how wildly unpopular vouchers are.
See Colorado, Nebraska and Kentucky.
Just put vouchers on a stand alone ballot in Texas and see what happens.
They would get absolutely obliterated and they know it.
Cowards.
So, you’re turning your back on 5.5 MILLION kids who attend Texas public schools to use public $ to pay tuition for the 350,000 kids who already attend private schools?
Got it.
You’re a sorry excuse for a human being.
This is our Governor.
This is not leadership.
Vouchers = scam
Authoritarians succeed by wearing us down until we give up hope.
I’m not going anywhere, and neither are you.
America needs patriots now more than ever.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was not among 51 members of the National Association of Attorneys General who signed a letter on Monday calling for a peaceful transfer of power and condemning violent acts relating to the election results. https://t.co/VVdWCW5Hmg
