Billions have been poured into flood control projects, yet our communities continue to go underwater.

Yes, the climate crisis is getting worse. We have abused our environment for decades, and we are now living with the consequences. But we also cannot keep blaming every flood on nature while billions meant to protect people disappear into overpriced, substandard, or questionable projects.

I think it is both. A worsening climate crisis and a system that has repeatedly failed to prepare for it.
