Local residents regularly fed and looked after her, and people in the neighbourhood knew her as a gentle, friendly dog.

In June 2026, Wang Wang gave birth to three puppies. She cared for them near the place where she lived, protecting and feeding them during their first weeks of life.

Her life ended in a way that shocked millions of people.
According to Chinese authorities, four boys under the age of 14 are suspected of killing Wang Wang and her puppies. Reports say the puppies were beaten and stabbed to death.

Wang Wang was then allegedly covered with a flammable liquid and set on fire. Videos of the abuse were recorded and later spread online, causing outrage both inside China and around the world.

Because the boys are under the age of 14, they are not expected to face criminal prosecution under Chinese law.

According to local reports, they have instead been placed in specialised education facilities.

🚨 The murder of Ann Widdecombe should horrify every decent person in this country.

According to the prosecution, Ann was attacked in her own home and struck 21 times in the head with a hammer.

Think about that for a moment.

Twenty-one blows.

In her own home.

This is the kind of brutality that should never be normalised or forgotten.

Ann Widdecombe spent decades serving the public and standing up for what she believed in. She was a woman of strong convictions who never seemed afraid to speak her mind, even when doing so made her unpopular.

We are now told that she died in one of the most horrific ways imaginable.

Britain has a serious problem with violence.

We have become far too accustomed to hearing about innocent people being attacked in their own homes, on our streets and in our communities.

We have seen a breakdown in respect for authority, a failure to properly deter criminals and a culture where violence is increasingly treated as just another fact of life.

It shouldn't be.

We need a society where criminals know that violence will have serious consequences.

We need a justice system that puts victims and the law-abiding majority first.
And we need to restore the basic principle that people should be able to feel safe in their own homes.

Whatever your politics, Ann Widdecombe was a human being who deserved to live out her life in peace and dignity.

We must demand justice. And we must confront the culture of violence that is destroying too many lives in Britain.
