@TheMarinaTimes In 2018-19, the year with the last available data, Alameda County held 139 criminal trials. Now they're holding 2500? Wow! Have a source? I've asked about this, so I assume you've checked and can back it up, or should issue a correction. https://t.co/qDDSTGX42f
@drk36@DeanPreston The police are full of shit. Residential burglary is first degree burglary in California and is a felony no matter the amount stolen. That being said, SFPD solves less than 10% of burglaries, so they're right that nothing will happen, they're just blaming it on the wrong people.
A recent spate of brazen property crimes has gripped San Francisco since tourism picked back up. It's one of a handful of interwoven crises that the city is facing as it casts away Covid-19 limits. https://t.co/hSc2cFiQVO
@sashaperigo As loathe as I am to back up Richie, it looks like the paid petitioners are from @recallchesa. They paid about $60,000 to 2020 Ballcamp LLC on their last disclosure for "petition circulation." Ballcamp LLC is owned by this guy. https://t.co/Il7AFuM0bD
@CharlesTillman@TheMarinaTimes The author felt more comfortable in a city w/ much more homicide because there were more homicides everywhere?
VIOLENT crime is down in SF.
The first case of HIV was identified in SF in 1981. Do you think there might have been a few cases before that that went ignored?
@thehill@TheHillOpinion In the 70s, the "quirky" years this author fondly yearns for, SF's homicide rate was 3X higher than today, and the city was actively ignoring the HIV crisis, which affected 50% of gay men.
But sure, SF is now a very dark, sad place because of shoplifting.
