@jung_leland@jacobin Yes, I’d love to see him fund local progressive movements in SF whether or not he runs again! His money could go so far for the causa we care about.
@barakgila I think all the tax the rich policies you've proposed are a good start, and I agree that policy details matter.
I take it you're involved with GrowSF? I can't say I've been a fan of anything the group has done so far, but I'm happy to work together with folks when we agree.
@barakgila While I agree that it's contradictory to support Saikat but oppose Prop D and the billionaire tax, you and I have some fundamental policy disagreements.
I'm a Stanford CS alumna who thinks Garry Tan is a toxic force in this city and who supports taxing the rich. 🤷♀️
Since @chrisarvinsf doesn't use Twitter anymore, I'll plug Election Map SF on their behalf!
The map lets you break down election data by precinct, neighborhood, or supervisorial district, as well as metrics like race, income, and homeownership rate.

@hyphy_republic We’ll never know how Saikat would have performed as a congressperson, but one thing I was definitely wrong about was thinking he had a better shot of beating Wiener in the general than Connie.
@ReidChalker Thanks for this. I voted for Saikat in the primary because I hoped he'd be better on the issues I cared about than Connie, but I'll be voting against Wiener in the general regardless.
The vast majority of Saikat supporters I know personally feel the same. Twitter isn't reality.
Really hope Prop D pulls through. It only needs 50%+1 to pass.
Mayor Daniel Lurie has declared horrific cuts to life-saving services for the city’s working poor in his Big Ugly Budget this June. It’ll be a bloodbath without revenue from D.
JUST IN: Saikat Chakrabarti has conceded the race. It will be Connie Chan vs. Scott Wiener in the contest to replace Nancy Pelosi.
“I want to congratulate Sen. Scott Wiener & Supervisor Connie Chan on their victories & thank everyone who participated in this election."
@jacobin A candidate who had experience organizing within San Francisco's socialist movement would undoubtedly have had a better shot at election.
If you've been organizing for Saikat, keep that momentum going within DSA to help build a bigger bench!

If you’re inspired by Saikat's platform, remember that the fight for working people doesn't begin or end with getting people into congress.
Real power comes from organizing together, in our workplaces, our buildings, and our city. Check out a @DSA_SF meeting to keep this going!
If you're an out-of-towner wondering why Saikat was so divisive among the SF left, this @jacobin piece is a great summary.
Unfortunately, Saikat can only blame himself for this loss.
