Working on tankers, Sanctioned by US is a tricky decision. U get paid well, less inspections,many gd companies r in that route, it's not illegal & thr r many jobs.
Only prob. u MAY not go to US again.
But ques is, Going to US is a big headache. Given a choice many wouldn't go.

मर्चेंट नेवी में पहले, मेडिकल होते ही Basic Salary चालू । Passport & CDC तभी जमा होते थे। फिर मार्केट में 2 बदमाश कंपनियां (AE & FM) आईं।अब, DOCUMENTS जमा करो, फ्री में कोर्स करो, WAIT करो, JOINING देकर एहसान करेंगे।
उनका बस चले तो जहाज में भी फ्री में काम करवाएं।

Shimla. After the US Coast Guard seized a Russian oil tanker in the North Atlantic Ocean, an Indian sailor from Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh has also been taken into custody. Rakshit Chauhan, a resident of Siddhpur Ghar village near Palampur subdivision, was working on the same ship that was stopped on charges of violating US sanctions.
Rakshit is serving in the Merchant Navy, and it is reported that his marriage is scheduled to take place in a few months. After this incident, not only his parents but also the family of his would-be bride are deeply worried. So far, the family has not received any clear information about his future.
The ship seized by the US Coast Guard is named Marinera, whose former name was Bella-1, and it was sailing under the Russian flag. A total of 28 people were on board the vessel, including 17 Ukrainians, six Georgians, three Indians and two Russian citizens.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has said that it is working to ensure the early return of its citizens, but no official information has yet been given about the Indians or citizens of other countries. In such a situation, the future of the three Indian sailors on board, including Rakshit Chauhan, still remains uncertain.

Rejoining Bonus, Contract completion Bonus & any other Bonus is just to fool u.
Always join companies which provide full salary. Tell AE , FM etc. to keep Bonuses with themselves. Write full salary in the contract letter.
Shipping job 20 yrs before:
>U report to the office, Same day medical & Basic salary starts.
>Courses in 4 star hotels with stay, food & basic salary
>Car always available at Airport to pick u up.
> The day u fly india, full salary starts.
But companies like AE,FM spoiled it all.

@AjayPas22549240@PrasharSdp@dgshipping_IN It's not just about 60% PCM. Ship cons, Stability, ROR, meteorology,Cargo work etc. No GPR learns this. If u want GPR to give 2nd mate exam, first let him learn all this in college, then 18 months as cadet (practical), after that 2nd mate exam. That's ok, otherwise disastrous.
After working on Ships & Ashore for 25 years, my conclusion is:
1. As a Job, onboard Ship job is THE best.
2. Everybody earns money, but a sailor earns personal life & quality time for himself.
3. Pollution free air & good health is the biggest dividend a sailor earns.
