Tonight saw a hardfought victory in a friendly match for the Division 3 Hull Riverkings as they narrowly saw off an experienced Sheffield Steelers select team littered with Division 1 and 2 players

score with a bullet from his own end followed by a very nicely taken goal by Tom Walkeden.
But that was all she wrote for the next 25 or so minutes as the Steelers took control scoring 4 on the bounce giving them comanding 4 - 2 lead going into the 3rd and final period.

Much of the 3rd period was cat and mouse for both teams. With Harry Dunn stealing the ball away from a Steeler providing a fantastic chance for Wayne Newman to split the defence and score breathing life back into the Riverkings players clawing the game back to 4 - 3 before

Captain Paul Sheard tied the game beautifully at 4 a piece. Only for the Steelers to hit back instantly giving the Kings a real headache... Not to be outdone The Riverkings hit back though Mark Laing to make it all square at 5..

lead through Man of the match Harry Dunn sailing through the steelers defence and finishing neatly. But as is hockey the Steelers hit back making it 6 all... in a tight game that could have gone either way, it ended in the Hull Riverkings favour as D-man Tom Walkeden fired home
