@jamieklingler Totally and especially those of us living close-by. My heart goes out to everyone who knows her. Through my local @Nextdoor_UK I’ve learnt of an app called I think Parachute and many similar that might help us feel a little safer.
Great apps to have are the Queen’s SeQure app and Parachute. SeQure sends your location to a friend, lists support services, and contacts emergency and non-emergency services. Parachute texts and calls your emergency contacts and sends them your location.

@wongmjane@signalapp 2) Because Signal uses the public telecom network to establish identity, in the presence of a malicious state/regime, before your first conversation with someone you must verify their identity out-of-band (like in-person) to ensure you are talking to the right person
@wongmjane@signalapp This is such a critically important point. 1) While your conversations on Signal are completely private, the fact that you are on Signal is public. Which, in some circumstances/regimes, can be compromising enough. (This becomes less relevant as Signal gains mainstream adoption)
