There was a rugby team in Kildare Town in 1906, 1913 and a competitive club throughout the 1930s. Even before the modern @CillDaraRFC
there was a rugby club from 1968-70
The original 'clubhouse' where teams were entertained after matches and events was the Railway Hotel.

The launch of Rebel Hearts. A biographical list of republican women activists in Co. Kildare 1913-1923 by @KarelKiely will take place on Thursday 15 February at 7.00pm in Naas Library and Cultural Centre.
Refreshments will be served.

@EugenesDIYDen @MissEllieN@francisbrennanb The building to the right is Lord Edward guesthouse but not sure what condition the interior of the Tower is - it was fairly dilapidated when I was in it last but that was before the works were done to the outside. Might be worth messaging the Silken Thomas

@bowbrick@Valancourt_B Came back to Ireland Separated from husband around 1970 who went back to England - probably divorced though she seemed unsure. She was 43 in May 1980 which means she was born around 1936-7 in Donegal.
