A simple question.
Why did the BBC ever think it appropriate to report that the suspect in the Southport killings was born in Cardiff to parents from Rwanda?
If he'd been born in Surrey to parents from Yorkshire, I am certain that they would not have pointed that out.
Are they trying to create, or even imply that there are, second-class British citizens?
This feels horribly like racism from the BBC, with the implication being that this group is made up of people who could be deported from the UK because they might have a claim to citizenship elsewhere. If that is what is happening, the BBC is supporting the far-right playbook.
An explanation is needed. Why is this apparent racism allowed from our state broadcaster?

Two Met Police officers have been sacked for gross misconduct following a hearing over this stop and search of athletes Bianca Williams and Ricardo Dos Santos.
The longer Israel tries to smash its way through Gaza, the more civilians it will kill. These deaths are entirely foreseeable and inevitable, and clearly amount to war crimes. Regardless of the war crimes Hamas committed on October 7, there is no justification for them.
If you can set-aside your club rivalries for a moment (as you should in the circumstances) Celtic fans display represents a useful rejection of corporate control of football and an impressive moment of solidarity in a censored society

Saying you want the siege and bombing of civilians maintained in accordance with international law is like saying you want people run over in accordance with the Highway Code. The first thing anyone with a platform/ political office should be calling for is a ceasefire
