As someone who once offered ride-hailing service, I still do whenever I and my car are available for that (it's a very valuable learning experience). Take this advice from me today: once you enter a cab, keep your mouth shut. Never divulge sensitive information, because you don't know who is listening.
I once picked up some popular Nollywood actors. They were running late for the airport. First, they wanted me to violate some traffic rules because they were running late, but I resisted. They were furious. Started throwing insults. I kept my cool. Soon, they started talking about how they would be in Delta the following week for a pastor who had paid them to show up and act as though the pastor gave them powers to succeed in Nollywood. That's where I learned that the Nollywood stars’ visit to churches is “arrange.”
Another incident was with an ex-BBNaija. She was with her PA that evening. Took them to Razor Sharp Wuse II, where the BBN star bought some dresses and changed into one of them, then straight to Maitama to meet one of the “big boys” in town, who, from the look of things, was married or in a relationship or baby daddy to another BBN star. In the car, this BBN star spoke about Wizkid, Davido and Burna, but was respectful of all 3.
Then one day, I took some security agency staff to check on a top politician who was supposed to be in detention, but it turned out Baba was chilling in a private apartment in Maitama. I learned that one that day, too. I knew everything about their mission from their discussion in the car.
Also, once picked @Chude_ND1 from FCDA (estate) Ademola Adetokubo to Zone 6. Lol. I actually told him I knew him, but he obviously didn't know who I was, as I wasn't that active on X by then. He didn't really say or do anything he should be worried about. Lol.
Then one day with OdumoduBlvck. Before he blew. He was very sick that day. Took him from Zone 2 to Garki. He called his sister as we arrived for me to send my account number so she could pay. In the car, he made a lot of calls out to his guys and said a lot. Lol.
I have numerous examples, but the bottom line is, once you enter a cab, keep your mouth shut.
Unwittingly, Portable confirmed Ycee's point here. Every time they try to push back against the "Olodo Uprising" tag, they end up validating it.
What annoys me most is this tiring rebuttal about someone "not having money." Anytime reason fails them, that's where they run.
It’s such a pity that they e have elevated material wealth to the highest standard of social approval, to the point where excellence, intelligence, and sound reasoning are dismissed if they aren't coming from someone who is richer than the subject. It's a societal malady.
Since when did someone's bank balance become the measure of whether their argument makes sense? If a person isn't as rich as you, does that automatically make everything they say invalid?
Tried creating a YouTube thumbnail with AI for the first time. Claude was absolute jokes. Shocking even (not in a good way). Meanwhile ChatGPT's result was excellent. Same prompt for both. I find it interesting.
The amount of fake news on YouTube is crazy. My mum gets all her fake news and celebrity gossip from there. It’s her most visited platform. Make content creators pity old people with fake gist and stories.
How are you comfortably useless in a house someone is accommodating you? Are you people raised at all or you are just daft?
The person housing you is most likely a friend or family. How are you comfortably useless? If it is a stranger that somebody begged to accommodate you, it is even worse.
"I am a guest in your house. I'll do nothing" is the mark of peak foolishness.
