S dubokim poštovanjem prisjećamo se Marka Babića, hrvatskog branitelja, pukovnika Hrvatske vojske i jednog od najvećih heroja obrane Vukovara.

Rođen je 16. veljače 1965. godine u Vukovaru, a preminuo je 5. srpnja 2007. godine u Zagrebu.

Tijekom Domovinskog rata bio je pripadnik 204. vukovarske brigade Hrvatske vojske te jedan od ključnih branitelja Trpinjske ceste. Zajedno sa svojim suborcima sudjelovao je u obrani Vukovara te u uništenju 14 neprijateljskih tenkova, čime je dao izniman doprinos obrani grada i Republike Hrvatske.

Za iskazanu hrabrost i doprinos u obrani Domovine posmrtno je promaknut u čin brigadnog generala.

Njegovo ime trajno je upisano među najveće junake Domovinskog rata. Njegova hrabrost, požrtvovnost i ljubav prema Hrvatskoj ostaju trajna inspiracija budućim naraštajima.

Počivao u miru Božjem.
