We’re excited to launch year three of this initiative. We’re starting GSS1 this year with 274 entries from 27 schools! Best of luck to those competing this week.
ST won and were named co-champs. CZ dropped on a 2-1, but Grace was the top speaker!!! Continually impressed by this group of 8th graders and their debating against high schoolers!
Special thanks to the leadership for planning the event and all the students who came! It was a great event and it’s awesome having such a great leadership team!
We wrapped up our first scrimmage of the season this evening. 2024-2025 marks out 10th year of offering free weeknight debates for the community to help new debaters get a taste of competition before the first tournament.
We couldn’t have done it without our coaches this week — Mr. Miller & Ms. Schirmer, Renea Moss in Spoken Word and our alumni coaches — Will Sjostrom ‘20 and Josh Escayg ‘23.
Middle School NSDA Nationals Update: @MaristSchool was named one of 7 Debate Schools of Excellence out of 175 schools. This is the highest school honor we have ever received at the NSDA National Tournament. @speechanddebate
