Stan Cho's resignation doesn't explain a single hotel bill.
He was living the suite life on your dime, got caught, and is now dodging accountability.
The refund is still owed. So are the answers.
And Former Minister Cho wasn't alone: Hardeep Grewal billed nearly $30,000, and Nina Tangri and Charmaine Williams billed tens of thousands more.
Do they still have the Premier's confidence?
BREAKING: Stan Cho has resigned from Premier Doug Ford's cabinet in the wake of the $16,000 hotel expenses scandal first revealed by Global News.
Ford statement:
“Earlier today, I accepted the resignation of Stan Cho from Cabinet, effective immediately. He has acknowledged and taken responsibility for his mistake. He will continue to serve the people of Willowdale as their Member of Provincial Parliament."

You cannot build a stronger country on the ashes of its communities. Listen to my message for the North, and for our country, as we face devastating wildfires:
Yesterday this was within the rules.
Today it's "totally unacceptable."
What changed?
We all found out about it.
Repayment is a start.
Now the receipts: which hotels, which nights, why.
And the nearly $200,000 taxpayers ate on his jet gets paid back too.
Premier Doug Ford, holding a news conference in Windsor, says the hotel expenses incurred by 20 of his MPPs is "totally unacceptable" and he told MPPs that they would be paying back "every single penny."
That's not what the premier said yesterday. He indicated that night sittings would be within bounds

In 2018, Doug Ford promised "the party is over with the taxpayers' money."
It was not over. It just moved to a hotel. 20 Ford MPPs spent $121,409 of your taxes on hotels instead of commuting to work.
We put every receipt in one place: https://t.co/2K1mtvD7VJ 🧵
If you stepped outside today, that haze you're breathing is wildfire smoke. But the real story is up north, where it's coming from. Whole communities evacuated. Families fleeing by boat. Collins First Nation burned to the ground. For most of us, it'll clear in a few days. For the people up north... it's their homes. Their communities. Their lives. And it didn't have to be this way. It's the result of choices made by governments that keep looking away.
This is a gross abuse of taxpayer dollars. Doug Ford’s Brampton East MPP billed taxpayers nearly $30K for downtown Toronto hotels. Brampton residents don't get free hotels to go to work, they commute, just like everyone else. But MPP Grewal thinks he should be living the suite life on your dime. Pay. It. Back.

My heart is with the people of Collins, Whitesand, Armstrong and Lac des Mille Lacs, forced from their homes by fire. Thank you to the crews who are putting themselves in the way of danger to keep folks safe.
What is happening in Thunder Bay is terrifying and these extreme events are only becoming more common. The province must be steadfast in providing the residents and local officials with the supports and updates they need to stay safe.
Why did Minister Cho think these expenses were acceptable in the first place? You deserve answers. And you deserve a government that treats your money with respect.
You can get from Willowdale to Queen's Park without changing subway trains. Minister Cho lives 6 km away and has a taxpayer-funded car and driver.
He still billed you $16,000 for downtown hotels.
Under Doug Ford, it's one long party with the taxpayers' dime.

NEW: A senior cabinet minister in the Ford gov’t billed taxpayers thousands of dollars for hotel rooms in downtown Toronto, despite living just a few kilometres away from Queen’s Park — public money that he’s now promising to partly pay back.

I’m devastated and furious at the senseless acts of gun violence that took place in Toronto last night.
Salsa on St Clair is a beloved community event, one that my family and I have enjoyed for many years.
I know residents and festival attendees are scared and still processing this reckless act at a crowded festival that brings thousands of people together.
My thoughts are with the families and victims, the first responders, the festival organizers and the community who worked tirelessly to organize this event.
We need to get illegal guns out of our streets and neighbourhoods. Nobody should have to worry that their loved ones will fall victim to reckless violence on our streets.
Thank you to the first responders- paramedics, firefighters, and Toronto Police - for your courage and service. Our city is incredibly grateful.
As the Leader of the Official Opposition, I’ve extended my support to local representatives, and I’ll be speaking with the Mayor and the Deputy Chief today.
I am thinking of the two lives lost and others who were injured and traumatized by the violence this evening on St. Clair West, just a short walk from my home.
My family and I are safe, but I can’t imagine what the families of the victims are experiencing tonight. This is horrific. Please stay away from the area and stay home if you can.
First responders, including Toronto police, are on site.
Again, please listen to the police as this is ongoing.
Doug Ford's tsunami of cuts are hitting hospitals all across the province. Fewer nurses on every shift. Longer waits. Patients paying the price. It doesn't have to be this way. In Manitoba, Wab Kinew's NDP government legislated nurse-to-patient ratios and it's working.
We've introduced the same thing here and the Conservatives keep voting it down. Our Shadow Health Minisiter France Gélinas is bringing it back this fall – and we're going to need your help to pass it.
I was horrified to learn of the assault on a TTC bus operator at Wilson Station this week. My thoughts are with the operator, their colleagues, and their loved ones.
Everyone deserves to feel safe at work, including the incredible @ATUlocal113 workers who keep Toronto moving.
Ontario's New Democrats are committed to keeping transit workers and transit riders safe.
Statement from #TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali on last night’s operator assault.
"Yesterday, a TTC bus operator from Wilson Division experienced a violent assault while on duty at Wilson Station. The operator sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a hospital, and is now recovering at home. The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault with a Weapon.
The thoughts of the entire TTC are with the operator and their family during this difficult time, and we wish them a full and quick recovery. I, along with TTC senior management, am committed to supporting the employee and their family throughout their recovery, including ensuring they have access to all available counselling, wellness, and recovery resources. TTC and ATU 113 leadership are firmly united in our commitment to ensuring all employees are safe at all times.
I want to thank everyone who provided support and care in the immediate aftermath of this incident. I also want to thank @TorontoPolice for their swift response in apprehending the suspect.
Let me be clear: violence against TTC employees is unacceptable. Every day, thousands of TTC employees serve the people of Toronto with professionalism and dedication, and they deserve to work in a safe environment. The safety of employees and customers remains our paramount concern.
While there are no ongoing threats related to this incident, we are conducting a thorough review of all available evidence, including CCTV footage, and will continue to work closely with Toronto Police as their investigation progresses.”
