❗️Meta's smart glasses could be banned in Germany and the rest of the EU.
Hamburg data protection commissioner Thomas Fuchs, Meta's lead regulator in Germany, says his office tested the glasses, found the recording LED too easy to miss, and concluded that filming people in public with them breaks data protection law. It is already issuing fines.
His verdict: a camera disguised as an everyday object is illegal to sell or own in Germany. Only the Bundesnetzagentur can order that ban; it is reportedly reviewing.
France's CNIL warned about the whole category in May, and the European Data Protection Board's report on smart glasses is due this summer.
Her name is Gina Martin. She was at a music festival in London when a man pushed his phone between her legs and took a photo under her skirt. She reported it to the police immediately. They told her it wasn't a criminal offence. There was nothing they could do.
She went home and decided that was unacceptable. With no legal background, no political connections and no funding she launched a campaign to make upskirting a criminal offence in England and Wales. She petitioned. She lobbied MPs. She spoke publicly about what had happened to her. The government initially blocked the bill.
She kept going. The Voyeurism Act passed in January 2019. Upskirting now carries up to two years in prison. Scotland followed. Other countries are following. A woman at a festival with no lawyer, no funding and no political connections rewrote the law for an entire nation in eighteen months.
please don't forget that at the end of the day your favourite kpop idol group are just normal men, too. with all the good and the bad that comes with it.
I wonder how much of a kpop stan I'd still be if I had never visited Korea & seen kpop idols there. just from seing idols & fans interact there I lost all interest in the industry as a whole. it's just way too much and so many fans are sO delusional, it's worse than religion
@hjsxbaee I've known ateez from pre-debut on and in the beginning he was (sadly) one of the members with very few fansites & fans so I guess he started doing more fanservice to those who biased him
bro if yunho really had a girlfriend all these years I'd feel so bad for her. he was continously checking out girls also outside of his work schedule and the fanservice he did to fans was a LOT more excessive than what was necessary
@hjsxbaee I really don't want to spread hate but some of the other members didn't do things like that, it's just the reality. Imagine you started dating in high-school and then your bf becomes an iol and suddenly flirts around with everyone, it would be hard for me as well
all the fanservice idols do is basically only costumer service lol imagine your friend would fall for the cashier because the cashier said hello, goodbye and thank you to them, you would call them delusional. the same with kpop idols, they do ALL of this just bc it's their job
you know, I think the most frightening about kpop is that they DELIBERATELY make fans as delusional and dependent on the idol/group as possible, so that they get YOU to spend as much money as possible, once you've fully realised that every idol is just a product you'll hate kpop
honestly kpop idols' partners are the strongest soldiers. seeing an idol giving "fan service" to absolutely delusional fans makes me nearly throw up from digust, bc it's just fucking sick for fans to have a relationship like this with an idol.
imagine how their partners must feel
Right now, Cuba is under a total blackout. After six months of a fuel blockade and just one shipment received, the electrical grid is under heavy strain. Trump’s siege on Cuba is real, relentless and claiming lives off the news cycle. The world has to end this genocidal war!
