16-year-old TikToker’s head found in a bag in Ecuador. Body still missing.

A 16-year-old girl named Leslibeth Anahi Garcia Farias was killed in Pasaje, El Oro province. On the morning of October 24, people found her head inside a black bag near the César Fadul coliseum. Her body has not been found yet. A video is also going around online that shows a gun pointed at her head. In the video she says “Esto me pasa por regalona” (This is happening to me for being spoiled).

Police have not confirmed if the video is linked to the killing or when it was recorded. Next to the bag they also found a note with threats against people who give information to rival gangs.

This case is another example of how bad the violence has become in parts of Ecuador. Gangs are fighting each other and ordinary people, including teenagers with no criminal record, are getting caught in the middle. Social media spreads the video and the news fast, but the police still have a lot of work to do to find out who did it and why. The fact that only the head was left in a public place with a threatening note looks like a warning from the criminals. Until the body is found and the people responsible are caught, families and the community stay afraid.

La grabaron antes de decapitarla viva, solo tenía 16 años, oriunda del cantón Pasaje.

A este extremo hemos llegado en este narco gobierno
