My opinion - The ANC acts like it has won the 2024 elections with a huge majority. They have no respect for their GNU partners and treat them with disrespect and contempt. Ramaphosa, Mbalula, Mantashe, Mashatile, and the finance minister made it very, very clear that they no longer can work with the DA or no longer need the DA. The parties that voted today for the approval of a VAT hike and Mashaba's ASA party are what they need to pass laws and bills from now on. Mashaba will most certainly be given a cabinet position when the DA is pushed from the GNU. The DA is fighting a losing battle in the GNU against an ANC who refuses to share power with them. The DA should walk away, become the official opposition, and fight the ANC through our courts. They'll achieve more that way than they can in the GNU. They should immediately institute a motion of no confidence against Ramaphosa. They will find the numbers to make it happen and get rid of the snake Ramaphosa. Doesn't matter who takes over from Ramaphosa, it won't make any difference in making SA better, but Ramaphosa needs to go now. He is doing very desperate things now to cling on to power and to ensure black votes. Ramaphosa needs to go now.

HOW THE BOERS ACQUIRED THEIR LAND IN THE EASTERN TRANSVAAL (MPUMALANGA)

While the Boers were in Ohrigstad, Swazi King Mswati II launched an attack on King Mpande's Zulu
outposts, seizing all the cattle in the process.

Mpande, seeking to avoid conflict with the Boers, informed them of his intention to take military action against the Swazis.

Potgieter explained to Mpande that there was a friendly relationship between the Boers and Swazis but assured him of Boer neutrality in the Zulu-Swazi conflict. Potgieter emphasised that the Boers would find the killing of Swazi women and children unacceptable.

However, the Swazi king then approached the Boers for support against the Zulus.

On 26 July 1846, Mswati and the Boers signed a defence treaty forming an alliance against the Zulus.

According to the terms of the treaty, the Boers committed to supporting the Swazis in their war against the Zulus in exchange for a
substantial piece of land in the eastern highveld (now Mpumalanga).

This area stretched from the Olifants River in the north to the Crocodile River in the south.

In July 1847, Mpande deployed his isaNgqu, iNkonkoni, uDlokwe, and uNokhenke regiments against the Swazis, but they had to withdraw without achieving success.

Thanks to the Boers the total annihilation of the Swazi people was ultimately prevented.
