Beyoncé included a whole ass excerpt from Malcolm X's 'Who Taught You to Hate Yourself' in Lemonade for you daft ass negroes to continue to consistently fail Black girls & Black women. Why?
Leave your antiblackness & colorism in 2019 where you left your common sense.
2nd: “Did we give her citizenship”
Before or after you slaughtered your way through our continent? Before or after you pillage and raped your way through our ancestors’ villages? Before or after ripping our languages off of our tongues? A good deal done in your “queen’s” years?
Them: Queen Elizabeth died. Have some respect.
Me, a product of her pillaging, raping, exploiting, resource extracting, and slaughtering her way through Africa:

If anyone expects me to express anything but disdain for the monarch who supervised a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family and the consequences of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can keep wishing upon a star.
Reminder that Queen Elizabeth is not a remnant of colonial times. She was an active participant in colonialism. She actively tried to stop independence movements & she tried to keep newly independent colonies from leaving the commonwealth. The evil she did was enough
Real question for the “now is not the appropriate time to talk about the negative impact of colonialism” crowd:
When is the appropriate time to talk about the negative impact of colonialism?
@_getemCC Fam! I’m saying. I just can’t get with it. Especially since Billie has been inserted into the story — it’s likely not meant to feel like she’s taking Charley’s place, but it does. I just can’t.
Hollywood is the only tiny thing keeping me hanging on.
Everyone else is aggy.
Finally watched the s7 premiere of #QueenSugar & idk who made the decision to “finish” Charley’s story at the end of season 6, but it was a mistake.
I used to think Aunt Vi was the heart of the story, but the empty/incomplete feeling present in 7.01 underlines it was Charley.
A few weeks after Roe was overturned, I went to see @DorothyERoberts, the visionary scholar of reproductive justice, to understand not only how the country got here but what to look for next. https://t.co/uqA9VouzFh
@dwriterlife It’s been floated around that it wasn’t by choice (idk if that’s true), but Dawn-Lyen posted her goodbye on IG last night.
It was originally reported that she’d have a recurring character arc, but DLG’s post said she wasn’t involved at all.
*Especially* because Charley vowed to Ernest in the first 2 eps. of s1 that she’d fix it & the historical status has already been thrown to the side. It just doesn’t feel right.
💔
I though the character would at least have a short arc, but after DLG’s IG post, I know she won’t,
I respect the writers & showrunner but will bow out gracefully because I have no interest in watching the Borderlone family play cat and mouse w/ Sam Landry w/o their closer.
