@elonmusk
Dear Elon,
In these critical days, the people of Iran need internet access. Please help them stay connected as they struggle to reclaim their country from the rule of the mullahs. Stand with the Iranian people. Iran will not forget its friends.
Forty-five years ago today, on January 20th, I finally walked into the light of freedom. My 444 days of grueling captivity were orchestrated by a vanguard of hundreds of zealous adherents of Ayatollah Khomeini. I and my colleagues—the fifty-one diplomats, military attachés, and Marines who endured that long night alongside me—remain a testament to the endurance of the human spirit.
Experts observe an "unbridgeable chasm" now existing between the Iranian state and its citizens, noting that the regime has lost its last shreds of domestic legitimacy.
I believe the Iranian people can win by escalating what terrifies the regime most—mass organization, sustained strikes, relentless exposure of its lies, and the refusal to be ruled by fear—while the outside world stops appeasing Tehran and starts acting: isolating regime leaders, enforcing real consequences, safeguarding Iranian activists, breaking censorship with open internet access, and standing openly with those risking their lives, because tyranny falls only when internal resistance and external pressure collide.
Regime in Iran is not only not stopping executions, it is also mocking Trump for suggesting that they would.
Tehran prosecutor is insulting Donald Trump and promising swift action against the protesters that are arrested.
⚠️ Update: #Iran has now been offline for 48 hours, as telemetry shows the nationwide internet blackout remains firmly in place.
Meanwhile, regime leaders have continued to post their version of events online while their kill-switch silences the voices of 90 million Iranians 😶
With reports of a rising death toll in Iran, @amnesty reiterates its calls for urgent global diplomatic action, warning of the risk of further bloodshed amid the internet blackout providing cover for security forces who commit grave violations.

⚠️ Update: #Iran has now been offline for 12 hours with national connectivity flatlining at ~1% of ordinary levels, after authorities imposed a national internet blackout in an attempt to suppress sweeping protests while covering up reports of regime brutality 📉
Had an incredible time at the ASTR conference in Seattle! It’s inspiring to connect with so many passionate individuals, mentors and mentees and exchange ideas. Looking forward to next year! #ASTR2024

ICYMI | After a divisive and historic election, Donald J. Trump emerged Wednesday with enough electoral votes to return to the White House in January. He'll be the country’s second-ever president to serve two nonconsecutive terms.
A second Trump administration will likely ramp up scrutiny of colleges and universities and empower advocates for sweeping reform of the sector during a historically unstable time for American higher education. As enrollments flounder and public disillusionment with college cost grows—and after a year of negative public attention over campus protesters and federal policy blunders on student debt and financial aid—that shift could have transformative implications for higher ed.

Amid all the distressing news we hear daily, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a Bunraku session at the Japan Embassy. It was such a unique experience to feel the coordination required for this traditional art form. #Bunraku#JapanEmbassy
An article about current underground theatre scene in Iran. Many of us have been waiting for it. I’m so glad I convinced the author Ali Mansouri to write it and then helped him publish it! Also the result of participation and friendship at ATHE!
