@KagutaMuseveni Thank you, Mzee for keeping Ugandans informed on matters of public health. Timely communication and community awareness are essential in preventing the spread of Ebola and protecting our people. We shall be tuned in.
@KagutaMuseveni As we honor our heroes, the focus on economic transformation is timely. Empowering households to participate in the money economy will help ensure that the benefits of Uganda's progress reach every community across the country.
Fellow Ugandans, on this Heroes Day, we remember the immense sacrifices made by our people in the struggle for freedom. The 9th of June 1981 was chosen to represent the hundreds of thousands who were killed, especially in the Luweero Triangle. After the war, we collected skulls from 32 communal graves as a reminder of the atrocities our people endured.
When we went to the bush, Uganda was facing a profound crisis. The economy had collapsed, governance had broken down, insecurity was rampant, and for 18 years, Ugandans had been denied the opportunity to freely elect their leaders. Our objectives were therefore clear: restore democracy, guarantee security, expand and diversify the economy, and rebuild the country.
I thank the civilian and armed veterans who joined us in this struggle and helped achieve these goals. I also salute the families of those heroes who are no longer with us. The challenge before us now is economic transformation and ensuring that every household joins the money economy.
@KagutaMuseveni@kamukamafredie Uganda's leadership in the EAC continues to strengthen ties among member states. By working together on health, financing, and development, the region can achieve sustainable growth and greater economic resilience.
I met the EAC Secretary General, Stephen Patrick Mbundi, and his team at State Lodge Nakasero to discuss matters concerning the Community, including trade, infrastructure, staffing, health, financing, and regional integration.
As Chairperson of the EAC Summit, I emphasised the need to strengthen regional cooperation and accelerate the implementation of programmes that advance prosperity and integration for our people.
@KagutaMuseveni Today we honor the courageous Ugandans who stood firm for justice, freedom, and national transformation. Their sacrifices continue to inspire us to work harder for a better Uganda.
@StateHouseUg@KagutaMuseveni Wishing the new Cabinet wisdom, integrity, and dedication as they serve the people of Uganda and implement key government programs.
@KagutaMuseveni We Appreciate the continued partnership between Uganda and the WHO. By combining local leadership, scientific expertise, and regional collaboration, we can strengthen resilience against Ebola and future public health threats.
I met with the World Health Organization Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who called on me at State House Entebbe.
We discussed the Ebola outbreak in the region and the measures needed to strengthen prevention and response efforts. I stressed the importance of community awareness, early detection, and cross-border collaboration.
Uganda has experience in mobilizing communities to confront public health challenges, as we did during the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through science, leadership, and cooperation with partners such as WHO, we can continue to protect our people and strengthen regional health security.
@KagutaMuseveni Thank you Mzee for keeping us informed and protected. Seeing our leaders work closely with African health experts gives the public immense confidence. Stay safe Ugandans💪
This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I met a delegation from Africa Centers for Disease Control (CDC) led by Director General Dr. Jean Kaseya, who briefed me on the regional Ebola situation and the measures being taken to ensure Uganda remains protected.
They proposed establishing a continental Incident Management Support Team for Ebola in Kampala to strengthen regional coordination and monitoring efforts, which Uganda welcomes and will support.
With proper attention and preparedness, Ebola is very manageable.
Later this afternoon, I held fruitful discussions with H.E. Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of Gabon. We discussed the importance of Africa processing its own raw materials instead of exporting them in their unprocessed form. I informed him about Uganda’s efforts in value addition, especially in agriculture, manufacturing and oil refinery development.
I also shared our experience in wealth creation through commercial agriculture, ICT, services and industrialisation. I welcomed Gabon’s interest in working with Uganda in areas such as agriculture, military training and private sector development.
Africa has everything required to transform itself if we prioritise production, patriotism & cooperation.
I had a pleasant meeting with my brother, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, at State House Entebbe. We discussed strengthening Uganda-Egypt relations in the areas of trade, industrialisation, renewable energy, fish farming and water resource management.
I shared with him the need to support large-scale fish farming as a way of protecting wetlands, creating jobs and helping our people transition from subsistence agriculture to commercial production. We also discussed the importance of electricity and manufacturing in driving socio-economic transformation. We further exchanged views on regional peace and stability, emphasizing dialogue and African cooperation in resolving conflicts.
I welcomed H.E. Daniel Francisco Chapo, President of Mozambique, to Uganda on his first visit to our country. I appreciate the historic relationship between Uganda and Mozambique, especially the support Mozambique extended to FRONASA fighters who trained in Montepuez during the liberation struggle.
Today, we held discussions at State House Entebbe on matters of national and regional importance, particularly security and the continued cooperation between our two countries.
@KagutaMuseveni Celebrating a life shaped by resilience and service. Happy 52nd Birthday Gen. Muhoozi, may you continue contributing to national progress.
Greetings fellow Ugandans, fellow Africans and especially, the Bazzukulu.
I am sending out this message to, first of all, thank God for giving Maama and myself our wonderful children: Muhoozi (Muogi), Natasha (Kukuru), Patience (Pusi) and Kyaremeera (Kyinini)., protecting them and prospering them. Secondly, I want to thank Maama for looking after them especially for the years 1981-86 when she was the only parent near them. Thirdly, I salute the children for going through the school systems and branching out successfully in the different fields of life – family, career, etc.
Fourthly, I thank the Ugandans and some of the Africans for standing with and supporting our family and Political movement in the various endeavours we have been undertaking with them.
On this occasion, on the 24th of April 2026, I want to congratulate Gen. Muhoozi (Muogi) on this 52nd birthday. These children, in particular Muhoozi, were born in the resistance, grew up in the resistance, and, in various ways, have made significant contribution to the resistance. Gen. Muhoozi has made significant contribution to fighting corruption in the Army and increasing the lethality of the UPDF.
