@ParkBoardScott Thank you Commissioner Jenson. This is a major reason why having an independent elected Park Board is essential. Commissioners can help advocate for the voices that often get lost. @kareemformayor@vanliberals
Finally, a candidate who @kareemformayor actually understands how the Park Board and the City of Vancouver work from the inside. I saw firsthand how massive the consultant costs were — and honestly, the time cost was just as painful. Inside the Park Board, we talked constantly about how expensive these reports were. And then senior managers would rewrite them anyway, shaping the findings toward whatever outcome they believed the Board would support. #vanlibs @vanliberals
Last year Ken Sim and ABC spent more on consultants than on the parks, community centres, and pools Vancouverites rely on.
That’s unacceptable. The Vancouver Liberals will change that.
This is what having your priorities straight looks like.

In this 'Hey Dad' video, I share how I brought Vancouver based small businesses to our parks which strengthened the local economy; especially during times when global supply chains become unpredictable. #vancouver @vancouverliberals @kareemformayor#buchabrew#legendshaul #mariosgelato #bkhjerky
We are committed to better governance:
1) We will bring in a new lobbyist registry at the City of Vancouver. Gone are the days when lobbyists and Ken Sim’s friends get better service and access than you.
2) We will cut FOI fees in half and get rid of the new $10 Ken Sim surcharge. It’s your government; you deserve to know what the people working for you are up to.
3) We will strengthen the office of the integrity commissioner. Ken Sim broke rules dozens of times; rules don’t matter unless the consequences are real.
Ken Sim has the worst attendance record of any mayor in history. The most basic part of a mayor’s job is showing up… and even when he does show up it’s not clear what he’s doing. Time for change.
🏗️ What do delays in Vancouver’s housing approval process actually cost?
In his latest column for Sitka Media, @kareemformayor looks at approval timelines, the cost of delays and where the city has managed to cut review times.

Mayoral candidate proposes ward system in Vancouver — but only if voters want it
I recently spoke with @kareemformayor about why he believes the change is necessary.

“Chinatown businesses have heard a lot of promises from City Hall,” said Kareem Allam, Vancouver Liberal candidate for mayor.
“They’ve seen announcements, new offices and substantially higher police spending. What they need now are results.”
Ken Sim’s strategy on safety has been a total failure. Chinatown break-ins are up 275% despite dramatically higher police spending and years of broken promises from Ken Sim.
Chinatown and Vancouver doesn’t need more promises. It needs results.
It’s time for change.
