@Faarax168427 Congratulations. It’s not exactly a surprise that I’m part of the 97+% of the U.S. population that’s not Jewish.
What’s your deal? A true believer in the Twelfth imam? Or just a simp for the IRGC hoping they eat Belgium last?
@scsimodem@alexthechick How are you using the term “common”? Certainly not as “typical” or “often.” I’ve played in and watched all sorts of sporting events with referees, officials, and umpires over a few decades, and the use of the verb “adjudicate” with the official as the subject does not happen.
@saluwe@alexthechick Happens all the time. “My mom’s pie was adjudicated as the best pie at the county fair.”
“My dog was adjudicated best in show!”
Common, everyday language don’t-cha-know.
@scsimodem@alexthechick How are you imagining you’ve identified a “non-legal definition” by affirming that “adjudicate” relates to the oucomes of legal proceedings? Legally, a plaintiff only obtains relief if a jury, the judges of the facts, finds for her, at which point the matter is adjudicated.
@KeoghMabel41495@alexthechick Your interlocutor here not only has both the facts and the law on her side, she has logic and the plain meaning of the words being used on her side.
Over the course of my life, I have heard countless sermons against legalism (which is good), but very few against licentiousness/antinomianism, which surely is the more common issue of our day.
@GaryWinslett RichC’s reply is a pretty strong indicator that regardless of whether “doing them would help Dems enormously” (it would), the “moves” you’ve listed are no longer policy options for the Democratic Party at large. Local dem candidates, maybe, but none with national exposure.
@TexasTechSB 95 times out of 100 there is not going to be a perfect throw at home. Good coaching to send the runner in that situation, better throw from the @Vol_Softball outfielder. Outstanding play all around.
"Why are boomers not voting for anti-Israel guy" is easy to understand when you realize their introduction to Palestinians was the Munich Olympics and their six billion plane hijackings instead of watching videos by gay third worlders and sex traffickers about how jooz bad
@neoavatara@iowahawkblog Firing 50% of public school administrators would be a better beginning. Any 50% would do. I’m not sure there’s much in the way of skill differentiation.
@MaxNordau@NickKristof The burden of proof lies with the individual making the claim, not the other way around. "Prove me wrong bro" isn't supposed to be the evidentiary standard of the fucking New York Times.
@WesleyLHuff You need to use “and” as your conjunction.
Using “but” between those two clauses creates the appearance that they are separable. They are certainly distinguishable, but neither is independent of the other.
Important to highlight when court-related rhetoric crosses a line. Rule of law is vital to our Republic. Going to war with the Supreme Court of Virginia (a Court which has four Democrats and three Republicans) is an inappropriate response to a court loss.
