I won’t lie I thought the musings/reservations regarding the Xhosa traditional attire were a tad purist, and as much as I’m a lover and respecter of culture, I always want to make room for evolution and growth. Ambassadors to the UN were give 4 minutes each to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela. I walked out at this moment but could hear from outside. Israel's Ambassador used his speech to attack the Mayor of New York city for daring to say he'd arrest Netanyahu. That was his Mandela Day speech.

There is no regard for anyone's history. There is no space for a shared humanity. There is no respect outside of Israel's narrow interests. Israel can't find any use for Mandela's legacy precisely because it is a state built on never ending vengeance and unbridled violence; Self-absorbed, unable to put a mirror to its face. No respect for anyone.
