Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery.
I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products.
I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people.
Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.
The security forces under the direction and instructions of the Commander-in-Chief launched Operation 'Maliza Ufisadi' the other day. We shall expand this operation and apprehend all culprits. No one will be spared.
Cheers to a brand new week filled with fresh opportunities, new energy, and endless possibilities. Letโs make it count!

President @KagutaMuseveni: Me Iโm going to go to Heaven. When I get to Heaven; God will ask me what I did on earth; and I will tell him of the efforts and programs I put up. Almighty already knows because he is seeing what Iโm doing.

Yesterday, H.E. @KagutaMuseveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, received Letters of Credence from Ambassadors-designate of the State of Qatar ๐ถ๐ฆ, the Republic of Cuba ๐จ๐บ, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic ๐ช๐ญ, the State of Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ, the Kingdom of Spain ๐ช๐ธ, and the Republic of Angola ๐ฆ๐ด. The President reaffirmed Ugandaโs ๐บ๐ฌ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in pursuit of shared prosperity, mutual respect, and constructive global partnership.
My brother @TamaleMirundiJ has asked a very good question but President @KagutaMuseveni has answered him ideologically.
Question; The majority of the population of Uganda is made up of young people. One of the challenges we always hear about and feel is that there are too many of the old people running the government - apart from the wise ones like yourself. In this new government we beg, Jjajja, that you put the bazzukkulu in serious positions of authority. There are already some who you have deployed and we are happy about those ones but we need more of us to take up responsibilities and show the world what we are capable of without fujjo.
Answer; Iโll appoint them I have no problem.
But Iโll tell you this; donโt abandon your responsibilities, donโt confuse biology with ideology because you might be young and lost, young and disoriented. Forexample, most of our leaders at Independence were young. #JazzWithJajja
