Since time immemorial, when a CEO asks a PM at Product Review, “what do you need to 10X users/revenue?”, “what will make you go faster?”, etc
The PM steadfastly responds “We need [N] more engineers”. The Eng Mgr nods approvingly
A story thread, with some hard truths to swallow:
Say you want to combine the documentation of all your projects into one project so whenever one of your projects is built, it also triggers a new build of the docs.
Check out this @ThePracticalDev article for an interesting walkthrough. 📖 https://t.co/yplCA5UgpH
I write a lot of TypeScript console / CLI apps using Node.js. I wanted to have a play with Bun, here's what happened (TL;DR things got faster!)

😢 R.I.P.
Fred Brooks was the author of "The Mythical Man Month" a book that was hugely influential on so many of us. Also his paper "No Silver Bullet" would be on most people's shortlist of most influential papers.
Got tired of tsc taking forever to type check my code so I made a Typescript type checker in Rust for fun
For a small Typescript file it's 500x faster than tsc taking ~0.002s vs ~1.3s (using SWC for compilation). It supports only a small subset of Typescript (for now).
If you're looking to understand how to build something with @daprdev then @jeffhollan's repo is a public good. Been slowly building my first dapr thing by unpicking how it's been achieved here:

I keep being surprised why people like jest for testing Node.js app. It’s almost a complete different environment from Node.js, how could they be certain they are actually testing for real.
In several repos now I need to specifically test my modules work with jest. Sigh.
