John Roberts is Chief Justice not just of SCOTUS but of the UNITED STATES. He chairs the Judicial Conference and heads the Judicial Branch. It’s absurd to say he’s impotent to prevent one renegade justice or two from wrecking that Branch and the whole Constitution. He must act.
