@badguy974@GrulkeLamonte If you get a unit with an inverter the heat pump will work to a much lower temperature vs switching to heat strips (Mitsubishi heat pumps work below 0F).
This should be as a percentage of home value and if also doesnt take into account that most elderly property owners in Calif barely pay any taxes thanks to Prop 13...
@MyBackyardPara1@Real__State This is happening in my neighborhood. If you bought your house for $35k in the 70s (which is a common scenario here) and your assessment increased 2% a year and never got fully reassessed (because of prop 13) your taxes would be around $1000.
Bit of a blunder for Mayor Lurie, Rafael Mandelman & others who put Prop A together.
Language on the very first page of Prop A, phrasing that was not caught by its authors, could inadvertently undo the separate term-limit measure voters passed in June.
Certainly not the intent.
People on here claiming it takes 3 hours to paint a furnished living room have either never painted a room or have never done a remotely passable job of it
Vote YES on RTM! It'll cost an East Bay family that spends $20k on taxable goods/year $100. That's far less than the cost of the time and additional gas it'd take to navigate the resulting congestion from far-reduced transit services
@markasaurus You get a few gallons of the thickest leaded white paint, and you just slather it over everything but the floor. Hinges? Yep. Doorknobs? You betcha. Window edges? Seal em shut with that paint. Steam rediator? Definitely.
