@RabbiJeffx 6-13.
Estimates of total explosives on Gaza range 70,000-220,000+ tons (academics, UN-linked, Gaza media office). Hiroshima yield ~15 kt (15,000 tons TNT). Exact IDF tonnage unpublished; figures approximate and effects differ (dispersed conventional vs single nuclear blast).
I will repeat…God forbid if even one person gets so much as a scratch over this, you and Carla will have to answer for it. It’s on you. You know exactly what Garvaghy Road means to people, and you’ve chosen to instigate and push for this anyway.
Hundreds of Orange parades happen across NI every year. One went through Magherafelt, a predominantly Catholic town as you well know, only days ago without issue. So spare us the absolute tripe about Catholics and nationalists being unreasonable. Stop using Garvaghy Road as fodder for your hateful sectarian PR narrative.
There’s an alternative route in the same area, where Catholics live too. But you keep pushing for Garvaghy Road. Of all the roads you could choose, you’ve picked the one with the deepest wounds and the greatest potential to cause harm. You are destroying the peace that has been built over decades which took so painfully long to get to.
Catholic residents of Portadown and across NI already have to watch Irish flags and effigies of Irish people burned on hateful sectarian bonfires every year, which I have no doubt some if not all these 35 “Christian” orange men happily attend. Garvaghy residents are still dealing with the not so distant cutting memories of losing loved ones as a result of these parades. To ignore that, then paint the Garvaghy residents and their supporters as unreasonable for objecting to this parade, is shameful.
If the peace collapses, you are to blame
I am a Jew from Ireland too, daughter of a German born holocaust survivor. And I'm ashamed that Ireland played Israel in the first place. Israel has fuck all to do with me and is a genocidal ethno-supremacist nation. Am in awe of Gavin Bazunu. His moral clarity and immense bravery in standing up for innocent lives, despite the immense pressure and isolation he faced, is phenomenal. 'Never again' means never again, anywhere, ever.
A large line of Sinn Fein members including cllrs have now blocked Garvaghy Road.
They will now be the first group police will meet if they arrive on the road @BelTel
DID YOU KNOW:
In 1999, Ireland refused Yugoslavia’s team entry to Dublin, preventing their match in protest against the Serbian regime’s crimes in Kosovo.
We will never forget your solidarity. Much love & respect to the Irish people — you’ll always be welcome in Kosovo! ❤️🇮🇪🇽🇰
If its right to send 100 Yr old men to jail for crimes they did in the 40s then its right to send 70 Yr British soldiers to jail for crimes they did in the North from the 70s , 80s ...
Football fans in Ireland rejoice as England’s World Cup hopes end.
We look forward to seeing you all next month, lads as you, erm, return to supporting English football teams. 👋
