@robinoverhere1 Unfortunately, too many believe all they read and their first reaction is to moan at the club! It was pretty clear the ‘reports’ were questionable as Lincoln would have announced it had he signed a new contract!
Surely if the ‘reports’ of Skubala signing an extension to his contract at Lincoln were true then his current club would have announced it? Relax City fans, and don’t believe all you read, I’m sure it will be sorted soon.
@LiHealey@RealBristolBoy They did make some good loan signings but their loan player who couldn’t get in a rival championship team also played a key role yesterday!
@RobinNestBCFC@sudsweio_bcfc GS took over a side which finished 6th & we signed Yu, Riis, Randell, Horvat & Eile + Morsy & Vitek on loan & extended contracts of RA & RD. Let 2 go who were approaching OOC. Yes, like others (incl m’boro & Millwall) we need a striker but lack of investment a false narrative imo
@FevsFootball@HancockAnalysis And, Norwich at home aside, Eile and Borges did an excellent job together in defence. Borges has been generally underrated in my view and I’d look to sign him. But, as you say, all about opinions!
@FevsFootball@HancockAnalysis As for the loans, Morsy was an excellent signing but thrived more in Hodgson’s system. Most fans welcomed Earthy back at the time and Burgzorg again improved under RH. Plus, Yu simply didn’t fit into Struber’s ‘system’ so he let him go!!
@FevsFootball@HancockAnalysis We won’t agree but I have rarely felt lower than after the PV, Leicester and WBA debacles. WBA at home was the nadir. I get the centre back issues but I felt GS lost the dressing room with his intransigence. After WBA, many were saying we wouldn’t get another point this season
@IanDarke Seriously, what do you do if a player is running down their contract and won’t re-sign? Surely a good strategy to get a fee and the look elsewhere? Horvat a very good replacement who I’m sure Mousinho/Skubala/ Challunor will be very happy with!
@HancockAnalysis@FevsFootball We did fail in the end largely because we had the wrong manager. We signed Horvat and Eile who replaced Meh/Vyn plus Morsy, Earthy on loan & Burgzorg who (the bar was admittedly low) RH seemed to consider our best striker. Struber inflexible & didn’t get best out of what we had
@RealBristolBoy@Bristoldelboy2@BristolCity I’d say you’re right and you’re wrong! Our strongest 11 more than a match for Hull and Millwall for example but defo in a 4 2 3 1 with Knight & Randell behind Horvat, Twine & Bird and, I guess Riss up front. Insistence on 3421 & that horrendous WBA game was Struber’s downfall
Millwall with chance of auto prom with leading scorers on 9 goals apiece! Despite the negativity after Struber sacked, I’d argue their squad not much better than ours but they are v well organised under a better manager and also had luck with injuries this season. Fine margins
@iansabbath Yes, entirely my view. I felt the level of venom directed towards the board at the time was really uncalled for. Of course they don’t get everything right but they appear to have acknowledged it was an error recruiting Struber and then took positive action to rectify this
An unpopular decision at the time but the decision to sack Struber has been well & truly vindicated. He was not getting the best from what was available with insistence on playing wing backs & players unhappy. Tactically much improved now and grateful our board acted decisively
@JonD_BCFC@ChongyMind Completely agree and similarly with Ranel Young who some feel we ought to give a bit of ‘playing time’ this season. None of these players fitted in Struber’s system
@RealBristolBoy You can add the horrendous home performance against West Brom to that list too given their position at the time! Unfortunately some awful performances under Struber in many of the games you have mentioned
Another illustration of the vast amounts invested by our owner. Certainly not got everything right running our club though I’d say more right than wrong. Any ‘sack the board’ chants today will be embarrassing especially given the recent boardroom changes! https://t.co/lDU7ELkPfu
@ronnabe It is a bonkers view given he is by some way our greatest goal threat. Will hopefully thrive even more if we continue to set up under Roy as we did yesterday as he was less isolated
