@micheal_ws18 Organize food into two groups ~ food & not food
Eat only food, eat zero not food.
Eat mostly eggs & meat.
There are a LOT of things the our governments & food "science" tacitly deem to be food but is actually not food.
@NotSolWalker@alphafox Ya can't really get a 2 door pick up any more. The stinking Ranger is now a big truck. I would love to get a truck like my 05 Sierra, 2 door & 6 ft bed. Very nice size.
@toylan20 When asked if he believed the horseshoe above his door brought him good luck, Neil's Bohr replied "Of course I don't believe the horseshoe brings good luck. But it brings good luck whether you believe it or not."
Creatine works the same way.
"Yet obesity existed before pizza delivery apps, before processed foods, and before social media nutrition gurus." Dr. Terry.
The guy to the left was comically obese 60 years ago, now that physique is a walmart thin. The word "food" does not have a scientific definition, as per the FDA, but it does have a legal definition. Food is & is not whatever the government tacitly deems it to be. The six people on The Skipper's right all ate natural human food. Our current pandemics of obesity & diabetes are caused by people eating synthetic sludge the FDA deems to be food.
Dr. Terry himself became obese eating these foodlike items. Yet he cannot recognize it.
The theology of modern diet tribes is fascinating.
A person says they don’t experience food noise. Fine.
Then, with breathtaking confidence, they attribute it to their preferred diet despite there being no evidence that an animal-based ketogenic diet eliminates food noise across populations. None.
What follows is usually a sermon. If only everyone ate exactly as they do, weighed every nut, avoided every pizza, and achieved dietary enlightenment, obesity would disappear.
Yet obesity existed before pizza delivery apps, before processed foods, and before social media nutrition gurus.
The fat-shaming hidden in these arguments is always the same: if you’re struggling, you must be weak, ignorant, or insufficiently disciplined. It couldn’t possibly be that human appetite is regulated by complex neurobiology.
As for the pizza accusation, perfection was never required. A slice of pizza every six weeks is not why people develop obesity, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease. If it were, Italy would be a medical wasteland.
The difference between religion and science is that science can tolerate exceptions. Diet dogma cannot.
That’s not evidence- but you continue to moralize
@PezeshkiCharles@CynicalPublius I have (had, I retired) less credentials but more aptitude than many of my managers who had big credentials and bigger ineptitude.
Heavy squats for me this morning: front, back, (3 reps at 275) overhead squats, standing presses. Then a 34 pound 1.5 mile ruck (up a steep hill,) Then 11 miles on the antique "pedal bike" (no battery assist,) not that hilly. Did it fasted, (pre workout eating is over rated.)
I need to shower. But I can walk fine.
@HynesDm@pensandpoison Oh wow. Didn't know this was under P&P. I just found her YT channel, very interesting person. I intend to watch more.
She didn't impress me as the Kerouac type.
Perhaps my innate abilities tilted towards The Humanities, my pragmatism tilted towards technologies. No regrets.
