@mykola @OpenAI But It doesn't have an interpretation. That's the key thing that people need to understand. Interpretation implies that it's doing something with meaning. But really, it's just stringing words together according to probabilily patterns.

@mykola @OpenAI There are no semantics in ChatGPT, no meaning. It's just patterns of how words are strung together. It has no way to evaluate a concept like "is this true?", because there is no "this".

@mykola @OpenAI I wish I knew how to make people understand: ChatGPT isn't AI. It's just eliza on steroids. It's got no comprehension, no knowledge of what it's saying. It's just picking the statistically most likely next word, over and over again, according to the patterns it's seen.
