In the UK nearly 60% of car journeys are under 5 miles. For millions of these journeys there's a better tool for the job.
For our health, for the climate, for less costly travel, for short journeys, #BikeIsBest
Sunak's tragedy is that, thanks to Brexit cultery, client journalism & Johnson's filthy coat-tails, he got all the way to Chancellor without ever having to answer difficult questions. When he is required to, the mask slips quick & the arrogant condescension kicks in quicker.
Those FIVE Zahawi u-turns in full:
Serving Boris
“He’s got to go”
Chancellor, yes please
Letter: Actually you should resign
I’m backing Boris
We must support Rishi
What an incredible tweet! The list of Johnson backers, the much lower than 102, should be pinned on the board and everyone of them should be sat on the naughty step backbenches until their demise at the elections
A day is a long time in politics...
Given today's news, it's clear that we should turn to @RishiSunak to become our next Prime Minister. Rishi is immensely talented, will command a strong majority in the parliamentary Conservative Party, and will have my full support & loyalty.
CLIENT: Why are you here?
ME: I’m your barrister
CLIENT: But I sacked you months ago. Remember? You lied and broke the law and proved yourself wholly incompetent.
ME: Yeah, but you instructed me in 2019. So I have a mandate. Boom!
*HIGH FIVE. WE ENTER COURT. CLIENT GETS LIFE*
He’s a distraction, negatives are 100x the positives. Yet he is sucking the air out of every media outlet. Those who have a vote, remember he has just caught a last minute flight back from the Caribbean, rather than heading into the office on a train from his constituency
Given how serious the mess in the UK is, it’s astonishing how effectively talk of Johnson’s return is cutting through. The cost of living crisis, aka poverty, is just round the corner for many. The breakfast shows should go to a university for a pov rather than a market/high st?
They don’t give a shit about *our* cost of living crisis, which should be simply be called poverty. It’s poverty. And it isn’t a crisis. It’s permanent. It’s permanent because of them. They’re so busy playing juvenile politics that they just don’t see the struggle.
