@BowTiedBroke I do something similar with a twist. To encourage work, I match 100% of earnings into a Roth IRA (up to $7500 limit) for my kids. If you can get $25,000 total in there by 25, it’ll be over $1 million by retirement age.
@BowTiedBroke 50. Red suburbanite in a blue state. Half the kiddos in college. Other half next few years. Would love to move to a state with no income or estate taxes. Never owned home on over 0.5 acres. Is 10+ acres and a home build manageable for a novice willing to learn?
@BowTiedBroke Daughter at UT and she’s made us fans of TN. Have just started looking at land within an hour of Alcoa airport for future use. Been stalking local realty sites. Would welcome any additional info.
@realEstateTrent It’s baked in to the system. Get a sky high assessment. Hire one of several law firms that reliably achieve significant reductions on appeal. Pay 30% of savings to law firm. Rinse and repeat.
Every time I log in to my @QuickBooks account, the “automated” transaction matching is somehow worse. And there are more pop up ads. Crazy how the product just keeps getting crappier.
@princetongb@jayabacus After I moved away from the captives (eg Allstate, State Farm) found consistently better policy terms (and pricing) through an independent broker for business lines and personal. Combo of Cincinnati, Hanover, and Acuity now.
