@AmericaPapaBear Using the term “Christian” while acting in a manner that is reprehensible to Christ is shameful. Perhaps she needs to include in her Bible reading Romans 13:1-6 or 1 Peter 2:13-14. Christians, as much as they may disagree with the laws, are commanded to obey them.
@GigaBasedDad Serious answer: it’s not about being Catholic, Protestant, or unaffiliated. It’s about faith in Christ. Paul states in Romans 10 that one must recognize Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead. That’s how a person goes to heaven. Church doesn’t influence it.
@randallwcarlson Most scholars estimate the weight of the Ark, including contents, to be a little under 200lbs. Some estimates put it as much as 325lbs since the thickness of wood and gold overlay is unknown. Whichever end of that range is accurate it was not “extraordinarily heavy.”
@HustleBitch_ And the hotdogs taste great! We pay for the membership just in savings on fuel, which is also better gas than (Tier 1) than any other local station. Then everything else is a bonus.
@DasLittleBodhi@GovMikeKehoe Comparing CA to MO taxes doesn’t make sense. Apples and oranges. I work with seniors who are spending 1.5 months (or more) of their Social Security on their property taxes, just to stay in their home that has been paid off for years. This is not sustainable.
@kevintmccauley7@GovMikeKehoe The senior property tax freeze is helpful, but if the increase has already taken place it’s locked but still unaffordable. A widow on Social Security may owe 1.5 months (or more) of her income just to stay in her family home. That’s not sustainable.
@DschlopesIsBack I do. My son and his friends thought it looked hilarious so joined a local curling club. Their wives would go with them for a “date” night…and then the guys who joined as a lark actually won their local tournament!
@aigkenham I don’t believe this is so. I do think, however, that the majority of the church may not agree with a particular interpretation of Genesis 1-11. There’s a huge difference in the inerrancy of Scripture and the inerrancy of an interpretation. Conflating the two is dangerous.
@AngelMD1103 If a person chooses to build or purchase a home in an HOA, they need to abide by the guidelines of the HOA, as onerous as they may be. There is a solution: don’t buy in an HOA regardless of how attractive the house or price may be. I have chosen a rural lifestyle intentionally.
@idiocracy310@MatrixMysteries@hrabe_blanka I hear you. My dad was in the South Pacific in 1962 in the nuclear testing program. Massive doses of radiation and significant health issues as a result and we’ve had to fight tooth and nail for a tiny disability.
@shipwreckshow I’ve read it. It is not “newly found” but was written in the late 2nd century (not written by Mary Magdalene). It was rediscovered in the 1890s having been rejected as heretical not by the Catholic Church (which didn’t exist yet) but by the ancient Christians.
