Calling out to all family, friends and colleagues in London, Birmingham and Manchester for your help. As some of you may know, I work for NHS Blood and Transplant and there is a really urgent need for more blood - in particular O types.

After a number of issues recently, it has significantly impacted blood supplies to hospitals and we need more donors to come forward and donate blood. We also need new donors to come forward so we can find new O type donors to save and improve lives.

You will almost immediately be able to get an appointment at one of our city centre locations in London (Stratford, Tooting, West End, Shepherd’s Bush etc), Birmingham, Sheffield and Manchester, (that’s important). There is availability next week and the following weeks, so if you work in the city centre or are going shopping, then please, please look to book an appointment now. You can start being a donor from the age of 17, so encourage those around to start the habit of a lifetime.
