There's no heckin way a power wheelchair can get through this muck. I'm tuff and I can help get it across ice or through a bit of snow...but the wheels will just spin and dig in deep in this.
Too bad. It would have been a lovely day to go more than a block or 2 on my walk.
Some people say Friday the 13th is unlucky.
I disagree. I woke up on a warm bed, had a great breakfast, napped while the puppy was being trained, and while puppy napped I got to visit the butcher! We're having meatballs tonight. I'd say it's a very lucky day!

Some of you have asked if you can send us a birthday donation.
This year we are doing our Fluff Ableism campaign which includes school & community presentations, promoting inclusive dog sports and creating educational material. You can support this here:

I saw a REAL LIVE #SUPERHERO in my community! He was scraping the curb ramps clear of ice & snow . He even did the City's part! This let us get to the store for milk! We thanked him but didn't get his name.
Sir, if you see this, give me a woof. I'd❤️to buy you a coffee!

Take your dog for a drive further away from the fireworks. Go enjoy a hot cocoa on a side road somewhere that they won't be nearly as loud.
And what's really important, either keep them leashed or in a room/crate so they can't bolt.
Stay safe. Happy New Year!

Other dogs might benefit from ear muffs. You can use a variety of things from socks to professional dog ear protection. Home made ear protection isn't as effective but when combined with steady background noise it can often work.

2. You can make the fireworks noise less noticeable by making your home loud. Gradually increase the TV or stereo volume before they start until its quite loud when the fireworks go off and have a cookie dance with your pup. For some dogs this helps tremendously.

It was beautiful and calm this morning! But tonight there will be loud bangs. I don't mind fireworks but many dogs find them terrifying.
Here's a 🧵to help them cope.
1. It's too late to counter condition a dog for tonight. Start next week to prepare for July events.

If you put the effort into sniffing out happiness, you will find it.
If you're busy sniffing out the miserable stuff you'll probably miss something good. Use your snoot wisely.

A lot you stuck up for me today. That's pretty cool.
You deserve bacon. Or cheese!Unless you're vegan and then you deserve really great vegetation.
In every ruff situation there's an opportunity to do great things.

@2Snative @AACyeg This is why it's essential to have a vehicle in this city for us to be independent and productive. Except in winter we can't even park on most streets because windrows and snow covered boulevards make it impossible to drop a ramp. Much our city was created with ableism.
The plow scraped the street.
Now the corner is inaccessible. They scraped part of the sidewalk by the bus stop but made a ridge of snow that people with mobility aids can't cross.
I feel like the human should be smart enough to have a better plan.

Look at all the mail! It's for me! This makes me feel really loved! They don't all have your Twitter accounts so I'm trying to match them up to send thank you messages!
This just makes my ❤️ smile.

I'm slowly making headway on my secret plan to take over the Provincial Government and implement mandatory nap legislation.
I have big plans for 2023!
