JD Vance tried to give a revisionist account of Donald Trump's presidency during tonight's VP debate. Here's what it was really like to live under Trump.
Your Labor Day reminder that Project 2025 would essentially ban unions for public service workers (pg. 82), let bosses avoid overtime pay (pg. 592), make it easier for private companies to decertify unions (pg. 603) and allow states to opt out of federal labor laws (pg. 605).
If you believe a 78-year-old who hits his driver about 200 yards (And that’s great for a 78-year-old!) beat a field of 22 scratch golfers, you don’t understand how golf (or math) works.
A judge just ruled Coca-Cola owes $16 BILLION in taxes on profits it was hiding in tax havens.
Just in case you wondered, THIS is why it's so important to make sure the IRS has the funding it needs to catch wealthy tax cheats.
We have to hold greedy corporations accountable.
In less than 55 seconds Pete Buttigieg managed to bring the truth to millions of Fox News viewers who have been shielded from the actual FACTS on CRIME, on INFLATION and on the ECONOMY.
Watch this clip from the DNC!
Fox Host: It was your colleagues in the Republican Party who torpedoed your border bill, not Democrats.
Sen. Lankford (R-OK): It was. Trump said don't fix anything, so my colleagues looked for a reason to shoot against it.
President Biden finalized this deal AN HOUR AFTER TELLING AMERICA HE WOULDN’T SEEK A 2ND TERM. He did it *knowing* it would have ZERO political benefit for him.
Donald Trump asked Putin NOT to release Evan Gershkovic until AFTER the election SOLELY to use him politically.
Senate Republicans just blocked a bipartisan bill to extend the child tax credit.
That’s not “pro-family.”
That’s not “fiscal conservatism.”
It’s just cruel, and will leave millions of kids in poverty.
"No taxes on tips" isn't the win you think it is.
Most tipped workers wouldn't get much of a tax cut at all.
But you know who would? Corporations that employ tipped workers and the wealthy who can relabel their income as "tips" at will.
Pass.
It's still kind of amazing to me that Republicans are so honest that Trump told them to kill the toughest border security bill in decades (negotiated with border hawk Republicans!) because Trump wanted the border to be a mess because it helps him politically.
Airlines have merged from 12 carriers in 1980 to 4 today.
4 companies control 85% of beef processing, 70% of the pork market, and 54% of poultry.
Albertsons, Kroger, and Walmart control 70% of the grocery sales in 167 cities.
Minimal competition means maximized price-gouging.
Under the tax plan proposed in Project 2025, it's estimated that a family of 4 making $100,000/year would get a $2,600 tax hike. But a family of 4 making $5 million/year would get a $325,000 tax cut.
It's a trickle-down nightmare.
Chipotle steak burrito a decade ago: $6.65
Now: $11
“It’s inflation - what can you do?”
Chipotle profit a decade ago: $327 million
Now: $1.23 billion
“It’s savvy business!”
Chipotle CEO decade ago: made 778x the median worker
Now: CEO makes 1,354x the median worker
“He earned it! They didn’t.”
a. This isn’t true. The “Biden put Harris in charge of the border” narrative is made up.
b. Harris supported the bipartisan border security bill that would have fixed the problem. Trump killed it.
c. Border crossings are lower now than in Trump’s last non-pandemic summer.
This is a lie.
VP Harris was never "in charge" of the border, but what is factual is that you and Trump killed the strongest bipartisan bill in recent history to secure our border because you wanted to exploit this issue for your campaign instead of solving it.
