Intelligentsia "Los Immortales El Salvadore" in the French press this morning, roasted on 7/2. Bright and sweet, nutty finish, oh yeah ...

[markharris @markharris]

just pulled 2 great shots in a row. shhh, don't tell anyone, just the local Starbucks espresso blend. slow & even mouse tail, sweet crema

[markharris @markharris]

in a pinch, picked up some Starbucks decaf espresso beans. nutty, toasted almonds, nice crema. surprisingly good shots, expected much less

[markharris @markharris]

@jackivers thanks for the Metropolis tip, always like to find another artisan roaster doing a good job - http://www.metropoliscoffee.com/

[markharris @markharris]

@jackivers Trader Joe's has an espresso blend, dark roast, eh - so so. In Chicago, you're much better off with Intelligentsia black cat ;-)

[markharris @markharris]

Here's deal on Trader Joe's coffee. Not top premium, but decent at good prices, interesting origins and variety, mid 80s at Coffeereview

[markharris @markharris]

correction, that Trader Joe's Peaberry was El Salvador (not Ecuador). Next time, more caffeine before I tweet.

[markharris @markharris]

@jackivers Packed in nitrogen flushed cans. We think roaster is in San Francisco. Freshness has been pretty good, stock turns often enough

[markharris @markharris]

@EWPLDF no, Trader Joe's doesn't post roast dates. Stock rotates ~ every 14 days. A date would be better, but bean freshness has been OK.

[markharris @markharris]

More coffee from Trader Joe's. Peaberry from Ecuador. Bright acidity, medium roast, nice finish, some body, chocolate tones, priced right.

[markharris @markharris]

Bolivian blend from Trader Joe's this morning. Interesting. Well balanced, medium-dark roast, smooth, easy body, mild acidity, caramel ...

[markharris @markharris]

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe this morning. Fragrant, touch of orange blossoms, lemon tones, sweet, clean finish. Nice way to start fathers day.

[markharris @markharris]

organic ethiopian yirgacheffe to start off the day. wild, sweet with fruit, and bright.

[markharris @markharris]

Costa Rican Peaberry in the coffee press this morning. Bright citrus acidity, brown sugar notes. my, my ... the coffees of Costa Rica!
