The gasoline crisis in Russia could be fatal for Putin’s regime, according to Deutsche Welle.

Fuel shortages in Russia are becoming increasingly serious amid Ukrainian attacks on refineries and other oil infrastructure. Problems are already being reported in at least 30 regions, with Moscow, the Moscow region, and southern Russia particularly affected.

Hour-long queues are forming at gas stations, and supply disruptions are beginning to affect more than just ordinary drivers. Taxis, courier services, construction, and logistics are also suffering.

Next in line are railways, freight transportation, industry, and agriculture.

At the same time, Russian discontent is growing, DW reports. The authorities are effectively being forced to create a separate fuel supply system for security forces, civil servants, and emergency services, allowing those with higher status to refuel without waiting in line.

One expert believes that, in the worst-case scenario for the Kremlin — and the best-case scenario for Ukraine — the fuel crisis could have fatal consequences for Putin’s regime.

🇨🇦 🇺🇸 A quick reminder of how trade with Canada actually works. The agreement governing it is the USMCA, negotiated by Donald Trump himself in his first term and hailed by Donald Trump himself as the best trade deal ever made. Six years of carefully stacked arrangements, and all it took was one clumsy grab at 50% tariffs, plus a 1930 Depression-era law so obscure no president ever touched it, to bring the whole shelf down on his own head.

And for those who remember the original justification: fentanyl. Pouring across the northern border, apparently, despite less than one percent of American fentanyl seizures happening anywhere near Canada. The pretext was fiction, so it was quietly swapped for new fiction while the wreckage kept piling up. Canada, sensibly, is matching the tariffs dollar for dollar.

Strip away the optics and one motive remains: manufactured chaos designed purely to hurt Canada, made by a man who never understood what he was dismantling. Possibly because Mark Carney is smarter than him. And, let’s be honest, considerably better looking.

Two More Years. That’s It.

Two more years, and then the planet will never again have to watch this man represent the United States on the world stage. And yes, I know, these will feel like the longest two years of your life. Like sitting in a traffic jam on the M25 behind a caravan, in the rain, with a wasp trapped in the car and nowhere to pull over.

There will be moments when you think it simply isn’t worth it. When you consider giving up, moving to a cabin in the woods and communicating exclusively with squirrels. I understand. Truly, I do.

But here’s the thing. There is an end to this.

One day, the motorcade stops. The podium disappears. The flags come down. The microphones are packed away. And this extraordinary spectacle of one man turning the presidency of the United States into a travelling grievance show becomes something we talk about in the past tense.

He may still shout. He may still post. There may still be cameras. But he will no longer be standing behind the seal of the President of the United States while the rest of the world tries to work out whether it is watching a superpower or an especially expensive nervous breakdown.

And that may be the strangest part of all when we look back.

Not that Donald Trump existed. History produces men like Donald Trump with depressing regularity.

It is that a country of 340 million people looked around, considered all the talent, intelligence, experience and basic adult competence available to it, and decided that this was the man it wanted to send out to represent America on the world stage.
