Sharing something I saw recently which should be emphasized more:
"'You don't owe anyone anything.' We've all heard it. But maybe it's time to talk about what that phrase is really doing.
It's marketed as empowerment. But too often, it's just emotional evasion in disguise.
We don't need more emotional escape routes. We need more courage. More softness. More people who show up even when it's hard.
'You don't owe anyone anything' should never be the excuse for abandoning what made you human in the first place.
True empowerment? It's facing discomfort with honesty. It's saying: 'I may not owe you everything, but I respect you enough to not pretend you were nothing.'

"C'mon everyone, let's do duck-cover-hold. Stay calm, wait until the shaking stops, then wait for the all clear, then calmly evacuate"

Most times nowadays, it takes stepping out for a few hours from what was once your valued sanctuary in order to get some semblance of peace of mind. Then you come back and once again endure what can only be labeled as indescribable uneasiness and anxiety masked by alcohol and TV.
When your supposed rest days become an increasing source of stress as time goes on, you start to have a different perspective on things. More particularly, your own health and mortality. And you then come to the realization that you need to start the necessary preparations.
My heart aches with having to have forced respect, and I can feel the anxiety is slowly building up over time. If there is a time for me to cross over to the other side--wherever that may be--that time is now."
"How I yearn for the days past of having a sanctuary; where times of rest are not tied by schedules, and personal peace of mind can easily be achieved resulting to a calm demeanor.
Remember kids: an anniversary--like a birthday--is by default, an annual event (read: yearly). So when greeting/announcing that particular milestone which will include the number of years, you say, "happy 7th anniversary!" You DON'T say, "happy 7th year anniversary!"

@Streakshooter31 I initially thought I reached that status when I started with the yearly sectional renovations of the family house three years ago (finally done with the last one a few weeks ago). Pros did the actual work, but it was my decision when it came to the layout, style, and furnishings
I now realized that I have reached ultra tito status when I purchased scented candles for the kitchen AND my room. 🕯️
Damn you, Bath & Body Works! Na-budol ako! 😖🤣
*Kitchen smelled good after I cooked dinner though*
Officially off my post-op meds but still not done with the recovery timeline & self-imposed alcohol sabbatical. Will be having another strobe session in 3 months, so need to summon the last of my diminishing quick-recovery abilities for this last stretch. I'd say voice is at 95%.
