I am passionate about birding started to watch and observe birds behaviour when I was 15 years old, I have been a rspb volunteer on Ham Wall reserve in Somerset
@Lesliecater1 That is a stunning photo mate. Just goes to show what marsh harriers take assuming breeding there? Like I said observing nest site over many years this is a first for me. After 40 odd years of birding still learning!! Love my birding & still seeing different behaviour. 😂😂
@MercianBirding@TameBirding@RSPBMiddleton Wow!! 36! Didn't realise they lived that long. Even after 40 odd years of birding still learning 😳. Tracking info on ringed or tagged birds is brilliant 👏 👍🏻
Had a cracking week in Somerset, birding on Shapwick Heath & Hall Wall, highlights loads of Marsh harriers lovely close views, numerous g w egrets, hobbies, Great reed warbler heard only which was a lifer ( though not seen by me or anybody i think), v skulking.....
Possible blue winged teal, just as I was going to scope it knowing something different it disappeared out of view bit annoying 😂 that's birding for you. Overall great week especially meeting 3 of my long standing birding buddies, Eain Wall, Mike Darling & Julian Thomas....
@MarburyBirds@CAWOSBirding Hi Debbie, sounds like a blackcap with scratchy tunes. Garden warbler is lot more tuneful but can be difficult to separate just by song 😀
