@educator4ever36 If the teacher is in front of the class, they represent the district they work for and should not answer the question. If it is after school in a private conversation it can be ok. I know teachers who volunteer their politics in the classroom and that is always wrong.
@educator4ever36 If principals do NOT buy into the dominant orthodoxy of education practice, fine. But if a principal is buying into that garbage let him/her stay in the office and leave me alone to do my job without bugging me to do what doesn't work.
@JamesDueck The biggest reason Catholic priests got more attention is the systematic cover-up, shuffling priests around when word was starting to get out. The reality about public school teachers certainly needs more attention. Abuse within churches is statistically very low.
@virgilwalker Weak men seems to be the popular answer. I was inclined toward it myself but if any of these precedes the others it is weak doctrine. Practice always follows doctrine.
@jossh1155@LaneAndrew4@SoliDeoGloria_X That is among the dumbest replies you could offer. Baptism is COMMANDED in scripture unlike the practice of praying to saints which has no scriptural support and was adapted from paganism and brought into "Christian" religious practice.
@LaneAndrew4@jossh1155@SoliDeoGloria_X First off, the flag argument was a category error. Secondly, you have no idea what I do or don't do. Thirdly, you did not tie respecting the flag with paganism but merely assumed it must be. Meanwhile, I mentioned specific reasons for calling prayers to saints pagan.
@LaneAndrew4@jossh1155@SoliDeoGloria_X That is not generally seen as religious. Can it be that? Yes, but not necessarily. It generally has no bearing on anyone's spiritual state. But praying to saints/Mary does carry religious weight for Catholics. They are categorically different issues.
@LaneAndrew4@jossh1155@SoliDeoGloria_X New believers had a hard time shaking pagan religious practices and the idea of praying to various saints and patron saints was familiar to the former pagans. The similarity of praying to saints and pagan polytheism is hard to miss. 3/3
@LaneAndrew4@jossh1155@SoliDeoGloria_X The church has a history of conforming to worldly beliefs and practices. Even as the NT was being written it was an issue (see Colossians and 1 John as examples) and the problem only got worse afterward. Greek philosophy had growing influence. 2/
@themarianbro@SoliDeoGloria_X Look at what Jesus said. No one is sinless but God. If Mary is sinless and the only one who is sinless is God it follows logically that Mary is God.
@Sxxxljek@ModestTeacher I said hiding it. What I am talking about are reports of teachers using certain names/pronouns with the student in school and another with the parent. Some students don't want their parents to know and deceive their parents. Teachers should not participate in such deception.
@themarianbro@SoliDeoGloria_X I just told you what Jesus himself said - no one is sinless but God, which includes Jesus. If Mary is sinless then she would also have to be God according to Jesus' words.
