The day I almost quit...

I was more than halfway down Kilimanjaro - the summit already in the bag - when a recovery truck pulled up for the first time.

My legs were rubber. Every reasonable voice in my head said get in.

I didn't.

The next morning fully rested: views I would have missed. Conversations I wouldn't have had.

Everyone's complaining about 6.5% mortgage rates.

Then a 44-year industry veteran said this to me this morning:

"I remember 1982 when rates averaged 16%. Today isn't easy. But it's not 1982."
