@KeeganMatheson I would assume there will be a move in the coming weeks or months to address the depth in the minors, in case another injury comes along
@YearOldOnTwit@maddiecholette Oh ya they do.... Very short memories. Like it was less than 3 months ago that he was playing at an elite level. And now he's the worst contract in sports. Just very annoying banter
@YearOldOnTwit@maddiecholette It wouldn't even had to be Bo, they lost him, so they needed to replace his presence in the lineup with another guy. As much as Bo has struggled, you'd still have to gameplan around him some, because he can go off at any time as well, which still takes some pressure off Vlad
@debzer01@Ozoon_CA I'm not saying whether or not Valenzuela is going to become, he's been great, but he may not be able to continue this. Look at how Davis Schneider burst onto the scene. If that deal is ever on the table for the Jays and you're in a win now mode, you make that deal.
@YearOldOnTwit@maddiecholette Not saying he would be, but in the past that's what we had. And also not saying guys we have can't become that(Barger,Okamoto). But currently we don't have that.
@cbend88@melissasprofile Ya whether it's lower body or back, I do feel like there's something bothering him. Don't think he gets enough credit for grinding through seasons. Obviously be nice if he was producing more. But I'll take this version of Vlad over any alternative they may have.
@NScherzingerCAN Im curious if he's nursing a lower body injury. He usually gives it more when it's needed, but even that's lacking alot. Would help explain the lack of power too, after a hot playoffs and WBC. Alot of miles on him the last year.
@melissasprofile I wonder if Vlad might be nursing something lower body. I know he doesn't hustle as much as he should, but he does kick it into high gear when needed, which he hasn't even been doing that. Along with the lack of power, it could explain alot.
@filmgatereviews@bnicholsonsmith It absolutely does something. If the Jays retaliate when they're hit, teams will be more cautious pitching inside. A pitch on the inside corner may become one over the plate. Teams aren't scared to pitch inside to the Jays right now. A couple retaliations may change that.
@maddiecholette This has been a trend for the last month or so I feel. Getting excessive the last 3 games. Too many times guys are getting hit in scary spots, and no retaliation. Doesn't matter if it's intentional or not. Nothing rallys a team like a little clearing of the benches lol
@bnicholsonsmith While part of it is eye for an eye, I think the main part is if the other team knows that if you bean a Jays player that retaliation could be a possibility, and it could prevent guys from throwing inside, which could in turn give them more balls over the plate.
@bnicholsonsmith That's not really the point though. Jays players have been getting hit regularly in very vulnerable places. It's not necessarily retaliate because there was intent. It's to protect your team prevent pitchers from trying to come inside and clip your players. Intentional or not.
@KeeganMatheson They have to fire back at some point here. I've been calling for some retaliation for awhile now. The last 3 games has been getting excessive. I get these aren't intentional, but have to protect your players. Make them second guess pitching inside to our hitters.
@BaseballWRLD_ I get that a pitcher may get more run support and get more wins, but not alot of guys are pitching deep regularly giving up 5+ ER over 4-5 IP. I'd prefer to ride starters deeper, since more often than not are the best pitchers instead of a bullpen that may have 2 good options.
@BaseballWRLD_ Wins matter to point. It shows you pitch deep into games and keep your team in it. I'd rather have a guy pitch 7+ innings regularly and gives up 2 or 3 runs, than a guy that max's out at 5 and gives up 0 or 1 run, because he can't be efficient. Puts so much more on bullpen.
