@cuneytdil He’s basically stealing Janeese’s ideas and promising to do things he refused to do while chairing the committee with oversight of utility regulation. McDuffie is so unserious.
@kenyanmcduffie Kenyan, why did you lie in the News4 debate and deny you killed the PPA provision in the 2018 clean energy bill that would have saved DC families hundreds of dollars?
We have the #receipts ⤵️

Our Pepco bills have skyrocketed faster than anywhere else in the country.
Kenyan: it's not my fault!
Also Kenyan: My dedicated volunteer just happens to be the longtime Pepco Executive I worked with to raise rates👇
This is Donna Cooper. Previously Pepco’s top lobbyist. She got him to kill an energy affordability measure in 2018. It costs DC families $300-$500 a year.
Hundreds of millions for Pepco. A few mins waving a sign. Good deal for Pepco, bad deal for DC.

DC had the chance to lock in lower renewable energy rates in 2018 with the Clean Energy DC Act.
As Council Committee Chair, McDuffie stripped the provision from the bill as a favor to Pepco lobbyists.
Today, DC residents are paying ~$24 more a month as a result of the decision.
Your Pepco bills are hundreds of dollars higher because of Kenyan McDuffie. Pepco opposed a key energy affordability measure in the Clean Energy DC Omnibus Act of 2018, and McDuffie stripped it from the legislation. Now, DC residents are paying the price.

Kenyan McDuffie is not telling the truth. He said in tonight's debate that he wrote DC's Renewable Portfolio Standard and 2018 clean energy law. That's a lie. He wasn't even a co-sponsor. Mary Cheh wrote the law; McDuffie undermined it.

@chenderson I support RCV, but it doesn’t really matter who JLG and McD voters pick #2 because they will be the last two candidates standing and their votes will never be redistributed. So #2 votes for the also-rans may make a difference, but #2 votes for the two leading candidates don’t.
Why is Kenyan McDuffie so rattled by allegations he’s in the pocket of big money interests?
Perhaps because the donations—and the legislative record—show it’s true.

Like my primary opponent, I participate in DC’s Fair Elections program, which limits donations at 200 dollars and forbids the use of donations from corporate or traditional PACs.
I chose to participate in the Fair Elections program as a reflection of my values and my belief that no individual or organization should have undue influence over my policy decisions or campaign promises. As with my primary opponent, I do not have control over which members of the community choose to contribute to my campaign, or their individual ideologies.
As Mayor, the only person who will be charge of me is you: all 700,000 residents of the District of Columbia. I look forward to continuing to participate in the Fair Elections Program and working to fight and deliver for ALL of DC.
@CMZParker5@CMLewisGeorgeW4 This is good news but it is still a BAD DEAL that forces taxpayers to subsidize fossil fuels and parking. Please stand firm and VOTE NO.

@AOC, we have weak and ineffectual leadership in the U.S. Senate. Will you please step up to challenge the impotent Senate Democratic leader when he’s up for reelection?
Great morning at Jefferson Middle School asking DC residents to vote for BOTH @RobertWhite_DC and @chenderson for DC Council At-Large and @ankitjaindc for Shadow Senator (and of course @KamalaHarris for President)!
“This is an attack on common-sense measures to increase energy efficiency to keep bills low & reduce health-harming air pollution,” said @markrodeffer.

“.@washingtongas isn’t serious about [networked geothermal]. It’s actually a laudable goal, and they should be doing it. But they shouldn’t be trying to steal money from poor people to study it.” - @markrodeffer@BeyondGasDC

We're at Holy Redeemer with @WIN_DC@SierraDC@IPLdmv & caring DC residents tonight, calling on @DOEE_DC@DCSEU to implement the Healthy Homes Act equitably, prioritizing people's health and livelihood. #electrifydc
The Sierra Club is proud to endorse DC Councilmember Christina Henderson for re-election! We look forward to working with CM @chenderson on our environmental priorities over the next four years.
