Think back to the promises Trump made in 2016, starting with this one.
Nine years later, he only has the concept of a plan to do what he said he’d do on day one. Con man.
It’s time to rethink engagement with this platform. Since Musk took over and eviscerated content moderation, it has become a beacon of disinformation and conspiracy theories. I’m checking out. https://t.co/NHYF5lYvo9
@akafacehots@elonmusk We are in no danger of running out of people. We are in danger of inventing an economic system capable of operating in a closed system (earth).
@MikeTronix@elonmusk Bullshit. As a physics PhD who has been a practicing engineer for 25 years I see that the theocratic and anti-intellectual tendencies of the Republican/religious right make it poison to most high-performing hard science types.
@elonmusk Wow indeed. There is a causal relationship here that you should be smart enough to figure out. If a party takes a theocratic turn and becomes anti-intellectual what do you suppose would happen?
@Laurie_Garrett At the other end of the spectrum, those who listed Comedy Central (Daily Show) as a news source where substantially better informed that Fox viewers on the relevant issues and predominantly opposed the war.
@Laurie_Garrett Any story of this needs to place Fox New front and center. Contemporary polling, as I recall, indicated that support for the Iraq war was largely based on those who a) relied on Fox News, and b) misperceived certain facts, e.g. that WMD had been discovered in Iraq.
@MollyJongFast This demonstration was notable for me in that it was the first time I actually "took to the streets." We'd had plenty of time to gather info & check sources. For some reason, everyone could smell this rat but the Bush insiders. Rewriting this history is beyond the pale.
