to the sikh community: you are respected here in the uk. you have every right to live, work and worship freely, and this country has welcomed you and treated you fairly for generations. but with respect, do not throw the race card every time you are challenged or criticised. we have seen it too many times — when something goes wrong, suddenly it is about prejudice or hate, when often it is simply about right and wrong.

and like we say to so many others — if you do not like the laws, the values, or the way we live here, then you are free to leave. this is our home, our country, and we decide the rules, not you.

but for those who want to stay and be part of this nation, i say this plainly: go into your communities, have the hard conversations, and hand your knives over to the police. an eight‑inch blade carried around a city street is not a religious symbol. it is a weapon designed to kill. no one needs to walk around armed like that in a civilised society. we do not allow it for anyone, and we will not make special exceptions just because of your background.

what happened to Henry Nowak was an absolute tragedy. he was an innocent young man, hunted down and killed in cold blood, then smeared and lied about by the killer and his family to cover their own guilt. his life was thrown away because of violence, lies, and a system too scared to stand up for the victim in case it caused offence.

let this be the one and only time this happens. let this tragedy be the wake‑up call. british tolerance is over. we have put up with too much, accepted too much, stayed quiet for too long in the name of diversity and respect. that time is gone.

we will respect your faith, we will respect your culture, we will respect you as neighbours — but we will not respect you carrying lethal weapons in public. we will not respect you lying and destroying evidence to protect murderers. we will not respect a system that protects ideology over human life.

if you want to live here, live by our rules. put the knives down. stop playing the race card. and understand that the patience of the british public has run out. Henry Nowak deserved better, and we demand better for everyone else who calls this country home.
